Simon
Based on Johns reply to my post in the Clinic thread I thought about who in my opinion is the best. It has to be a flyer you have personally seen, and you need a reason. Please dont pick the obvious !! For example, for me Stephen Hoath could get it as he has more 1st places than anyone else I've seen fly & has great choreography for Team & pairs Quad, Plus he's now a very good Team captain, but he's not my pick (I cant pick someone in my own Team after all) To give you some names to throw around: Dave Brittain, Damian Quilliven, James Madelin, James Robertshaw, Carl Robertshaw, Felix Mottram (UK Only) Simon... Thanks. Scott was my role model in kiting, far and away... Pound for pound, relative to his era, the best flier in history, imho. -------------------- John Barresi
big bri
Kite flyer ya say.Not just a rev head. Easy for me,Neil Edwards NKG. He can fly a paper bag and make it look good.Regardless of what the kite is,one line, twoline or a quad.Neil has a style, grace and a finesse ive rarely seen.he also understands kite design and builds them himself.Hes also a good teacher/mentor and has been for many new kiters up my end of the country. Hes never been world champ,Euro Champ,or has no medals or cups.Just a few Stack wins as i can recall.Probably never will be World Champ.Hes not the best ive seen on a rev,hes not the best ive seen on a dual line or single line, but he has an almost Hypnotic style when flying. That, along with his timeing and understanding, touch, skill, and best of all PASSION and LOVE for the kites he flys.Make Neil my No 1 allrounder. Neil always says, time on the lines is everything,to which i agree, but haveing someone at a local level like Neil. With skill, patience, knowledge and Love for what ther doing ,is a real boost for new flyers.Ther the unsung heros of the kiteworld and are few and far between up my end of the country. Thanks to people like Neil or even people Neil has helped and taught now, myself included. The kite scene up my end of the world is getting better and bigger.. Ho, ive never seen him charge anyone a Penny either.Infact, its cost him a small fortune over the years traveling and stuff.I understand WHY,for instance the rev clinic at Bristol needs funding and i dont mean in any way to diss that or anything anyone does along those lines. The point is, Quality tuition is PRICELESS.I would gladly pay for it. BRIAN...ps,Dave Ellison on a Rev,Just[by1.2%]lol

beach
I vote for me otherwise nobody gets any kites, but you know there are alot of good fliers who bring lots of talent to the sand. If I had to pick one I'd be at a loss of who that'd be and in my business I've had a chance to see some of the best. Im going to think about this but no matter what I'm still the best..... Stephen Hoath
No question- BEN!!! At this rate Ben will be more popular than Mrs Clinton! As for best quad pilot, that's a tough one as there are so many aspects. Simon is a great technician but he's in my team so he won't get my vote. Dave Britain, was an inspiration and was an out and out entertainer which made you want to watch. but for pure joy in flying I nominate the whole of team FLIC. Now they know how to have fun with a kite.

lummas
Guido, Lam, Carl, James, Baressi, Stephen. They are all excellent pilots. I would have to say that I love so many aspects of each of their styles, that I could not choose one Favorite. I get my inspiration from them all and it helps me improve, so keep on flying guys. Oh and ofcourse.... Ben! Mark
kellykelly
I'll vote for Ben. Also the best quad pilots are all the guys that have taken the time to teach me and others.
Simon
I'm so happy at the responses. So far its exactly what I expected. No ego's jump to the front, we as a group appreciate what each of has done to this point and how far we can still go. It quite re assuring really that in this day and age there are still a huge number of people who do it because " if it was easy, everyone would do it" Really liked Big Bri's answer, I guess everyone has the local hero who helped them out early on, mine were Phil Scarfe, Richard Marsh, Rob Brassington & the little guy who can fly anything Damian Quinlivan (or how every you spell his name) I refuse to name my Rev heros on grounds of I still see them and it would make me blush Respect Guys, Simon. AldenMiller
I vote for the woman that Ant just gave a kite to. Next to her it is every new rev flyer once they get the kite to do something they want to do and get that grin that only a rev can give. -Alden
Morrunya
My choice is centered around three people. John B, Steve D, and Ben. John can definately do some crazy stuff with his kite, I can only dream to do half the things he is capable of. Steve, I have seen fly two revs at once in perfect syncronization. That is one thing I have seen no one else do. Ben, is definately one of the best. I don't think someone could find a better teacher than Ben. harrier
Gotta be Joe, Jim and David H. without them where would the rest of us be? we would look kinda stupid just waving line about. And Ben has my vote for sure.
ian4c
For me it has to be David Ellison. Thanks David! It was David Ellison (Summer Reving on YouTube) who introduced me to the Rev at the beginning of June 07 at the Exmouth Kite Festival and later when David gave me tuition he put me on the road to the enjoyment of flying rev kites. But I have to say, of the 6 or so rev fliers I have now met, all have wanted to help and want to advise with great enhusisiam and pleasure. And I have to say, I have passed on my bit of knowledge to a few others as well. As well people like JB, SH along with many others are an inspiration to many of us. RAWVEEDA
The best Rev flyer.....after Ben is easy. Look around and find out who has the biggest grin on their face. Look at the time you tried your first "team fly formation". (key word tried) HEY! it may have not been pretty but it was sure fun. My vote is for who ever is having the most fun with a kid like grin. I guess if you want the best, look at all the competition standings. But if you really want the best look for the sh*t eating grin .
david ellison
Guido Maiocchi and/or James Robertshaw deserve to be in anyone's top 3 and certainly worth climbing over big Gary. big Bri, and Uncle Tom Cobbley to see. Bri, pudsli and Ian4c thanks for the honourable mentions but you all need to get out more!!!!
