Your photos are really something. It has to be very difficult to fly over that water.

Although not as spectacular as Niagara, here are a couple of photos Lynn took of me flying last week at Kolob Canyon, near Zion National Park in southern Utah.

Jim

It would depend on who you ask I think Zion is way cooler than Niagara. IMHO

kicked you out???? i thought in the south their was southern hospitality..

Security...? I'm confused! ...Why would they kick you out? It was a train station... I could see if it was an airport.. Then you'd be a kite risk!

Laurel: What a great job of videoing... steady hand indeed... and you're dad's not bad either!

Thanks for posting!

Hey Scott-

That's so cool.

I've said it before, it's awe-inspiring to be allowed and able to fly a kite amidst this nation's great aviation history!

That's a beautiful kite.

Is that a Masterpiece Series? I don't remember it, or did you make it?

It's a Randy Tom, I had commissioned in 91, its a one of a kind as far as I know. I also had all 3 Hadzicki brothers sign it at the 91 nationals who also hand delivered it to me. I had it hanging on the wall in my dining Rm. but the wife thought it was creepy the way the eyes followed you.

Notice the car in the last picture...it's the local Police. They just happened to show up as I got my 30' lines set out and put the rev together. I think they mainly came to chase out the wandering vendors...."you wanna buy scarf, purse, or umbrella?"

So, I thought to be safe and not create an international incident (or get put in jail), I simply walked over to the police car and asked if it was ok to fly for a few minutes and get a couple pictures. The officer who was driving said something (in Italian) to his partner, they both sort of chuckled, then he looked at me and said, "OK...you fly." They stayed until I landed and put the Rev away.

Later, I flew at the Circus Maximus.....you know, where they used to have the chariot races. But, I got too caught up in flying and did not take any pictures. I was on my own at that time. Time to learn to fly with one hand.

Hi Laura,

Thats a Nagel Girl. They were 1970's pictures in Playboy (http://www.arthistoryarchive.com/arthistor...rick-Nagel.html). Randy Tom did some really nice kites with them on. He then did what could possibly be called the first Masters series kites. Not sure how many he did but a few peope have them each one different. But ALL really nice.

Randy's finest work of the Nagel girls was imho http://people.exeter.ac.uk/jastaple/kites/.../one/sevsis.jpg
