Jeepster
... wind is now pants. ... Okay, I've researched the: 1) Beaufort Scale ... invented by a Brit 2) Saffir-Simpson Hurricane Scale 3) Fujita Scale 4) Enhanced Fujita Scale 5) Douglas Sea Scale 6) Peirson-Moskowitz Sea Spectrum (aka Sea State Table) 7) Tornado Force Scale 8) Torro Scale Nowhere do any of the above wind-speed scales use the term "pants" as a descriptive indicator. I hate to open myself to the typical abuse so lavishly bestowed by Jeremy, but I've just got to ask ... what scale are you using? And, what are the other terms besides the wind is now pants? Cheers, Tom

Jeepster
Try The Urban Dictionary Scale. (ignore the first definition) And so it translates: Pants ... adjective. British slang. Not good; total crap; nonsense; rubbish; bad Hmmm. So, the winds are bad! Well, why didn't Jeremy say so? Thanks for clearing that up ... my uncle Bob sure got lost on that one. Jonesey
iQuad are officially fully up to speed with UK culture having visited 2 pubs so far... and it was a pleasure to put them up for the first night... they were polite enough to say they slept well. however I do think they were a little surprised at how small some of our quaint English cottages are

fortflyer
Great Vid Groz, excellent choice on music as well guess I'll have to find a new song for mine now :confused!: I'd like to ask a favor of anyone over at these 2 festivals in the UK to congratulate Bazzer on his wonderful adaptation to quad line kites. I've not yet been able to tell him face to face yet and I think he may appreciate hearing it from his fellow countrymen. Going from not flying quads much to jumping in with a team like iQuad and holding his own very well thats gotta say something about a chap, probably one of the most impressive quad flyer's in my book to accomplish what he has. And for the record no Barry I'm not kissin up for a kite but if it helps I'll take it when I do order in the next few months

Simon
Oh Boy we had fun !!!!!! Too tired to post more now. Ben & Joe set new records for non stop flying it was so good to see those two just jamming for hours. Joe set up near the boardwalk, and had a regular flow of people asking what he was doing/flying etc. And then giving hands on experience. Big thanks to Stephen Hoath & Felix Mottram for the organizing, ALL the ground Crew - BIG thanks to you guys !!!. Big Thanks to Jay for letting me and Luca fly your Blast, now that is one kite I must revisit since it first came out. And lastly for now... Make sure if you are in the UK next week YOU get to Bristol Your family needs you to be there !!! sailor99
Fabulous event! All the rev teams are going down a storm with the crowds. iQuad slipped into their groove today having recovered from the jet lag. TTS fielded 10 (?) members for their routines which always looks great, and they didn't do the frog music! Flic and CrazyDrivers added a certain French flair as only they can do. We all saw what a world class ballet looks like (Ron despararo - excuse my spelling Ron). Decorators are redefining painting and the jazzy fun of the TMF routines are great. But the highlight has to be the mega flies. The bursts and threads with so many kites draws an Ooooo from the crowd every time! 47 today. It would have been 48 but jonesey was late . It'll be such a treat to see the video - you just can't look when you are flying. I don't know where I'll find the energy, I had to have a lie in today, but now we have 2 days of the iQuad clinic. david ellison
Wow! just Wow! When gnarly UK festival veteran commentator Andy King says that the grid mega fly was possibly the highlight of his many kiting experiences then you know it was half reasonable. Stephen Hoath coaxed us around the sky with great skill courtesy of Corey's megaphone and the crowd "oohed" and "aahed". Can't wait to see the film. It's very tempting to take your eyes off your kite and look across to the other side of the sky to see what a grid of 47 revs looks like - but not recommended as 47 kites equates to over 4 miles of string!!! Ben wanted to fly a kamikaze mission into the grid to cause the biggest wipe out ever - but he didn't have enough new line sets to give away afterwards! I need to lie down for a few days, before it all happens again (but bigger) next weekend.
Hezz
Phew. Just got home. That was fab!!! Now got to sift through 1,225 photos and a few small videos... aarrrghh!!! Aerochic
It sounds like a TOTALLY AWESOME FESTIVAL. Wowwwww! I'm so jealous. I can't wait to see the videos from this. I've found some pics of the megaflys already here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/geishaboy500/...57606909988554/ Ben wanted to fly a kamikaze mission into the grid to cause the biggest wipe out ever - but he didn't have enough new line sets to give away afterwards! BWAHAHAHA! That is so completely devious, I love it!!! Would have been fun to see.

Felix
He He wot fun ..Bob have you stopped smiling yet ?? right now for next week OK I am sitting here giggling to myself to the point of tear-fullness. I was extremely apprehensive at the beginning of the weekend. It was a roller-coaster for me! Now I would like to extend my personal thanks to all the individuals who have contributed to the collective achievement. We can discuss the significance of this after next weekend! We have to do it all again in the meantime.... Best wishes Felix
