Wildwoods Int'l Kite Festival

Recommended Posts

Though I only ended up being there for one day it was a great time on saturday, and it was fun to see some familiar and some new faces. It was really fun, and I really needed a nice break from the norm, who knows maybe next time I get out there I will have enough time to actually join in a mega fly. I might just have to borrow ants blast stack to drag my car across the bay to get back home though. Silly ferry people setting up limited runs on a saturday of all times.

Well the misses and I enjoyed ourselves immensely AGAIN! Sadly, another fun time in Wildwood has come to a conclusion. There are so many things to do, you have to choose which way to go on the beach, which activities to participate in, what dinner plans and who's going ~ seeing friends, both old and new. I hope everyone made a new friend, . . . I certainly did. Seeing the old gang and watching the expansion of quad-lines to main-stream focus. The young and old, the weak and strong, even some folks with "unique challenges" ALL are willing to give it a go.

Everyone who contributes makes this entire event special. I won't list them though. There are lots of "behind the scenes efforts" most of us never need to know about,... to all those folks THANK YOU for your efforts! The set-up gang, the judges, the announcers, the sponsors, the pit-crews and support members, what a great brotherhood we have in our activities together.

Lastly, I thought it was great

seeing the humility on so many quad-fliers faces (who thought "they had it goin' on" before the mega-fly, myself included!) Joining into the huge group it was pretty apparent who should withdraw and who should stick around. When somebody lost it, they sweep 5 or 6 kites down out of the sky with them. You had to fit in and HOLD your position. Some people looked like they were holding their breath also, <LOL!> So much strain for so little movement. The comments up and down the line were a hoot as well. Heck we couldn't even count-off without a restart!

See ya'll next year, God willin'

Hear, hear, Paul!!! Sky Festival Productions, Beatrix and ALL did a killer job in bringing this festival together and boy did they have their hands full. I also personally meant to thank whoever was doing the music throughout the weekend, tons of great selections to fly to... that ALL makes a difference. :clap;

ps. Y'all were making me crack up while taking pictures of the Mega Fly! I tried very carefully not to get into anybody's way. I totally didn't want to mess up people's concentration.

ABSOLUTELY a fantastic weekend at Wildwood!

I love the place. The people are great, the beach is great and it's non stop fun for days.

The megafly was simply a thing of beauty with I *think* (correct me if I'm wrong) 33 flyers. And it was the most coherent of large megaflys I have been at. We find as we make it around the country again from last year, more and more people get to better and better rev flyers. :-)

Thanks to everyone who make the weekend such a roaring success!

I resemble that remark! I didn't slap, I was gentle! :kid_devlish:

Haha. That's true. I guess I was remembering the SLAP that I got from JB during the clinic in March. I think my butt still hurts from that. Hahaha. Yes Alden, you were such a gentleman and didn't slap me. How sweet. lol

Yes, Kelly did an AWESOME job with Rev games; it was so much more fun than I ever anticipated. And per request, I will be a "Rev Girl" next year and have a bikini and flags to start the races. :ani_giveup: Those of you who are attending our next Wildwood fly have something special in store for you. Those of you who are not, I'll be sure to post pictures :)

A big thanks for everyone who came out and played and helped with REV games!! :clap;

I'll post the results and all 33 names of the Mega fly tomorrow . I am coming

down with a cold and need sleep. :kid_drool: ZZZzzzzz

Kelly,

First off, sorry you're not feeling well.

Awesome job with the REV games. Thank you for setting that up.

Very challenging indeed! I am truly humbled. Not too bad on the slalom but Man o Man, I stunk it up on the blind fly and inverted race.

Oh yeah, Major props to Antman for solid times in the slalom and blind fly. Must've been the home field advantage!

Can't wait to try again next time.
