I really don't know where they come from nor did I notice any at Revolution. Rumor has it that they are filled with some special gas that reduces the weight probably as much as 50%. Apparently the downfall is that they might be a bit more fragile due to the nature of the gas.

I think that this story has been around for some time now <grins>

Nope, it's all true... I have a Silver Bullet set up, got a few hours on it now.

1. It's just the leading edge, verticals are standard.

2. Concept is like tapering, but not really... 4 wrap in the middle, graduating to 2 wrap on the wing tips.

Allows the wing tips to flex a bit more, interesting.

Myself, I still prefer the standard spar handling.

So, like using 4 wrap in the middle and 3 wrap for the outers like we have been doing a long time now, but with the added ingredient.. at the tips?

With all the ground work that The Decs have done I would be anxious about lighter tips.

Ben had some at KP7. Like john I found that the kite tended to drift somewhat with them. I think it was that the gas filling made them so light that the kite tended to be blown around much more. Also that they were effectively more flexible at the tips of the LE made the leeches of the sail drop off a touch more - a bit like if you had 2W ends with a RR center spar.

I have a set i aquired at Kite Party.Dont have enough time on them to make a full report.

I flew with them Streight off the back of a Race Rods set up on a 1.5 vent.Which is for me my fav set up of all.Probably a little unfair to compare them as i think its fair to say RR + Vent 1.5,well does it get any better, maybe, maybe not.

Wind was like flying through Rice Pudding at times[fulla lumps]so far from perfect conditions.Wind Gusts up around 16mph and then down to 7mph in the blink of an eye.I had the Silver Bullet Rods in a Kite Party B Series std 1.5, which was on her proper maiden flight also[sEXY].

How wher the Rods,Nice i thought. After a tentative start,in testing/frustrateing condition.Rather not comment atm on wher they sit in the BAG,but will for sure give them a proper runout. Before i can give My humble thumbs up or down.,but ther certainly Sitting just behind the Race Frame and infront of the Ultra lite[3 wrap] on the KEWL METER.Its also worth remembering that only a few years ago.The SLE was the most common rod used,so Bravo Rev[bEN] again on trying to push on the tech side and improve us mortals.

Love the Kite Party B Series BTW,stunner.

Interesting, to say the least. I wonder if there would be noticable differences at the high and low end of the thermometer.

Ben told me it was Biuric Light Lithium, which I have to admit I was not familiar with. ISTBC but I think the "light" indicates it is lighter than air (Like obviously dur!) hence its use in the silver bullet frame. I understand it is the same stuff that they use in the lithium energy saving light bulbs.

Still before noon in your neck of the woods John. Not that it is necessary of course. People think we are kidding about silver bullets, yet a simple search on the forum reveals Ben actually announced them officially way back at the beginning of February; at 0857GMT on the 11th February to be precise. He even described the tecnology, the dumping of the edges/leaches etc.
