"a mile and a quarter" ? I hate to break it to you mate but with 50 Revs all on 120ft lines that's, as near as makes no odds, five miles. Doesn't bear thinking about does it.

Are, but I was assuming only 23% of the kites would have twisted their lines up ;)

Yes, exactly! Good pictures, by the way!

Felix

why thank you... shame you didn't 'jam' again/longer... so I could have got more piccies.

BTW: those are lovely unique sails you have, great when stacked in the air or on the ground.

I didn't recognise your revs on the saturday (sadly).

The beach and arenas are so huge in Berck, that it was a case of being in the wrong place at the wrong time! :blue-confused:

I'll be more attentive in August!

It's smaller and easier to keep an eye out + more organised program wise!

good winds

On Saturday we flew a stock vented set. On Sunday morning we started on the vented, switched to the MH 1.5s and finally the MH 1s as the wind subsided. We were flying for most of the time on both days.

Yes, I realise you were flying most of the time now I am at home and going through the photographs.

I saw but didn't know it was The Decorators D'oh!

Your mostly white sails are very distinctive and distinguish your team from other fliers, that's why I stopped flying on the sunday and rushed over to the inflatable arena where you were (caught the end of your routine)... then a flier on yellow, just 'jammed' around a single line kite for a while before you had to goto the main arena for the mega fly. ;)

All the other times we were flying ourselves or getting food or at a different arena. :blue-confused:

Still going through and putting photos online :)

I will take some at Portsmouth.

(sorry if this is off topic).

Good to have you on the list, we're really looking forward to a great time with new folks. ;)

For anyone who hasn't signed up yet, please be aware that we will be capping the total number of registrants to 35.

My main concern is not to compromise the effectiveness of the clinic.

Really looking forward to meeting the pro's and hoping to learn a lot

Good Winds,

Hi John, good to see you coming. You did a great job in Ostend and you should have a lot of fun flying with John. I will see you on the field.

If you want to try team flying you need 120's realy. (not that I have tried it)

You will find you have so much more sky and can practice a moove more times B4 you get too close to the ground with 120's.

I have a couple of spare 120's, you are more than welcome to borrow / buy one. (Kiteworld are OK with this. Any money I get for my spares will go to iQuad)

They are not the BEST quality but OK. Try B4 you buy if you like.

will there be help and/or facilities/services for the clinic days ?

I know parking is free (usually) if you are a member of the Kite Society during the festival, but is there help with this during the clinic ?

Even hotel car parks are full to bursting during this bank holiday w/e!

Unknown on this end Choccy, might want to check with the organizers directly.

FYI, we now have 24 signed up... Only 11 slots left. ;)

Also, Kiteworld UK should have 120's on hand for anyone who needs to pick some up.

I don't think the answer will be easy to find out. On the Monday, a bank holiday, I undertand Southsea sea front is also home for a dog show. So there will be lots of parked cars (volvo estates no doubt). The Tuesday should be easier, as it is just a normal day. I have not had a problem parking down there on a normal day.

I think there's also a gay pride rally that day, but they are all smart car drivers so shouldn't take up too much space ..

Hi All,

I will speak with the KSoGB during the week and I feel sure they will let me reproduce some

car passes for people attending the clinic on the Monday.

If you arrive early enough you can usually park in the area near the camping.

Tuesday I imagine no parking on the common but the car park opposite the Queens Hotel

(next to camping area) will be easily available.

regards

Dave M

Hello all - me and my gf are down for the clinic - thought it was about time I signed up here! We're both very recreational part-time EXP fliers :blue-confused: (but fly everything from 1 line to 5 lines!)

Thanks to Choccy & Groz for the inital heads-up!

Will be great to get some expert tuition!

Ant (seems like a few of us here!)

p.s We're booked into the Travelodge - was much cheaper than the PremierInn if you paid up front.... Would be interested in parking passes if there are any going..

Hi Ant :)

Big welcome to the forum :kid_content:

Good to see you here.

Holding out on the car parking passes ATM - they are usually issued through the Kite Society nearer the time.

In the meantime you can browse the forum folders for lots of advice when the wind isn't blowing in your favour ;)

Mind you, you already do a mean dive-stop

This thread appears to be going into orbit.

Has it been 'spidered' or something?
