Hi all

I can make it (from South Devon) up to Ainsdale for 17/18 Nov weekend to help with tuition if the numbers justify the trip and "teachers" are needed. Can't do the 24/25.

I should also be able to make the 19/20 January at Stopsley if decision made asap so that I can sync with other half's work shifts.

Due to popular demand the dates for the first Rev Fly in to be hosted on the beach at Ainsdal will be the weekend of 17/18 November.

I will be on the beach all weekend and look forward to seeing as many of you who can make it.

If you can get them please bring Rev 1.5 and 120' of 80lb line. This way we can fly a little team if the mood takes us.

Could anyone local to Ainsdale let us know the best part of the beach to aim for, where to park etc?

See you all in two weeks.

Stephen, are you posting this information to the FA forum as well?

I think there are likely to be a few there who aren't on this forum that would like to attend as well. ;)

I hadn't intentionaly publicised the event a great deal. As this is the first day I wanted to see what works without having to do a great deal of extra planning. My own team keeps me pretty busy as it is etc etc.

However, I see that it has made it's way onto FA and of course welcome anyone who wants to come along.

Hi all

Really new to the forum (1st post). I got my first rev last week (SLE) and have only just managed to get out flying. Bit safer and less weather dependant than paragliding!!!

I'm based in Kent and would be more than willing to make the effort to get up to Liverpool for the 17 / 18th just to get more experience and a great deal of guidance from the pros and anyone else. I would also like my wife to see what can be achieved as I have been raving about the stuff on on YouTube.

Please PM / email me with details as soon as pos.

Also any would like to meet up with any Rev flyers in the west kent area.

Regards

DD

Sorry ya cant make it Chris,Would have been good to see ya.

Directions

Assumeing everyone can read a MAP,

roughly speaking its,M6 to Junction 26 and then OFF AT the sign for the M58[orrell/Skelmersdale/WIGAN]come off the M6 keep left on the slip road.At the end you come to a large ROUNDABOUT.Follow M58 Skelmersdale/southport.Go streight to the end of the M58[20mins ish]and you reach switch island.Keep Right ,go streight on following sign for CROSBY.Keeping in right hand lane of what becomes four lanes. The right hand lane will seperate at a set of Lights to go RIGHT[policestation is on your right].GO RIGHT,

Follow this road for about 3 miles. You will go over one junction that also has Traffic lights, keep streight on.When you go past TWO large pubs on your right you will reach a set of Traffic lights,GO RIGHT for SOUTHPORT/FORMBY[left is crosby].Stay on this road which becomes a dual carridge way for about 15min.You will go over several roundabouts,Big Tesco on your RIGHT,just keep along the road. Its signed for SOUTHPORT.

You will eventually pass RAF WOODVALE on your LEFT[cant miss it].The road will narrow and as you go through a set of Traffic Lights at the end of RAF WOODVALE keep LEFT as the road bears left as your turning Left at the next lights[almost imediatley] and a sign for AINSDALE[coast road].As you Turn LEFT thers a Caravan park called [WILLOW BANK] on your left.Just keep alomg the road.

Keep on the road until you reach a Big Roundabout with the SANDS PUB infront of you and PONTINS/Butlins on your left.GO LEFT by Pontins[firdt left off the roundabout]and down onto the beech.Turn LEFT up the beech and YOUVE DONE IT :)

This is Willow Bank Touring Parks Details. Its very clean, quiet, and 2 mins from the beech.I wil be probably staying ther. You could use the post code for your TOM-TOM[sat nav]

Anyone need any help,JUST ASK.

Click Here for Google map to Ainsdale Beach.

As Brian says turn at the roundabout where pontins is, onto shore road & this takes you straight onto the beach.

Just a word of caution, at this time of year the sand around the entrance to the beach can somtimes be wet & soft, be careful driveing on, its best to keep to the left as you drive on.

See you there,

Dave.

So, the plan is to have a fly/meet on the beack at Ainsdale either 17/18 November or the 24/25 November (please express a preference) and a second fly/meet day at Stopsley (Luton) around 19/20 January (or in February if the need arises)

New poster here, and afraid I missed this thread. So next weekend is a little too short notice for me. But count me in if it is ok for the Luton meet. Anyway luton is closer to my home (in Andover)

and ignore the exit signs, go out by the same route you came in, as far to the left as you can get, or right on the way out.

I also recommend that no one drives out with me, cos i have a tendency to get my car going slideways on the exit!

Would save me doin it Chris.

The first time i met Clare she was STUCK.I had to drag her,,, ROLLER SCATE OUT,,,[mx5 or hairdressers car,or BARBIE ride]of the only soft sand in miles of beech;

Women Drivers :sq-tongue::sq-smile:

The entrance is a soft spot, but you rarely see anyone stuck. The wardens keep it backfilled more this time of year and thers less traffic now as its winter.

Just put your foot down a little and your through the 10ft of soft stuff,IF ITS THER.
