Big is beautiful?

I believe it is the MacBanderas tribe from the Highlands of Andalucia!
Not at all. As I am sure you know, the people of Andulucia have little use of tartans - partly because they lived in the hot south and partly because the rain in Spain falls mainly on the plain. I believe it is the McQuijote tartan from which is made the famous item of clothing, the 'Poncho Sanza'.

Boy oh boy is that a slow and graceful rev! I do believe several together would make for a very dramatic team display.

I saw a video of a giant rev somewhere it was kinda gold tinfoil looking material. I'm sure it was bigger than this one but did not fly nearly as well.

I'll also not let Joe see this one. Jynx would kill me :P

Kill you? ...Only if you're still livin' when your wife gets finished!

Those are definitely the biggest Revs I've seen. The first one is especially nice looking. It almost felt like I was watching in slow motion.

Hi Rich-

It's 4.8 meters long x 1.6 meters high. So the height is bigger than the length of our 1.5's ..... wow!!!

I would love to try it!!

WAW.A Monster Rev.Nice.

I used to own the Worlds Largest Stunt/Trick kite.Dam near killed me.I think it was 27ft,tip to tip.To give ya some idea of scale and size,as i dont have a picture at hand.It was higher and wider than a set of Proffessional Football Goals.Sounded like a B52 in a 4mph wind and would pull a Brigade of Soliders in anything higher.

Ive been quiet the last few weeks as ive been learning to sew.Ive made a Peg Bag for the wifes washing Days,A 6ft Rok,A Delta with a twin keel, and my fav so far,A Roller that is as stable as anything ive flown .Now a Big Rev Could be a great project if the Gods allow .

Cheers Stephen

What has that thing got, 5 foot spars?

What are foot spars?? I only see 2 verticals?? You colonial types don't half confuse us old worlders with your new fangled language :kid_devlish:

Hey Bri ... I've just started having a go at building some 'oddities too' ... how about you start sewing from your end and I will too and we can join the two half's together around Nottingham ... should be big enough to hold the record for while

Actually I didn't sew my first one just stuck it together with seam tape ... mind you there wasn't much 'material' .. second one did require a little sewing!

Nerd alert on ...

@ Laura

The 1.5 number in the Rev 1.5 is a ratio ... in size, it's half way between a Rev 1 and a Rev II. The Spanish kite has a 189 inch wing span (4.8 meters) and is 63 inches tall (1.6 meters). That's a little over twice the size of a Rev 1.5 ... that's still very big!!!

@ Jeff

If you do a linear graph of the Rev wing spans (108", 91", 72") versus Rev number (1, 1.5, II), then the Spanish kite plots out to a negative 1.24 in size. Kind of dumb!!!

Cheers,

Tom
