Wayne & Barb It was nice meeting you & thanks for giving us the chance to stare at the sun and not burn our retnias out:) This is what kiting/ Rev Family is all about. I look forward to doing it again in the future. You could take the Brit out of England But you can't stop the kiting shenanigans. Sammy I'll give you a tip "Don't eat the yellow snow" Did you make enough to buy your vent?

rcom714
Carolyn and Mel......yesterday was a figment of everyone's imagination. No one got together to fly. Great fun to have you as our guests. Glad we didn't scare you away with our boorish behavior! Deb....big kudos to you for indulging Bri and the rest of us while we flew our collective asses off! The time just flew. Wufer.......beautiful detail work on the hands shaking. Very nice!
Aerochic
Wowwwwwww! Look at all that Beautiful RW&B!!! Great Shots! I knew you all would have a fantastic time and make Bri's east coast leg of his Rev Tour very memorable! Everyone was very strongly in my thoughts yesterday. I'm so happy it turned out to be quite the celebration! ps. Can I just add how stoked I am to see one of the ducky stakes in the group photo as well? YAY! bobw
Awesome fun, awesome day. Can't believe we put the sun down. That mega-vent of brian's was waaaay cool. Now if I can just get the courage to cut apart a new kite. And Wufer, your kite was a beaut. And that dang Union Jack looks even better in person. Way fun with folks from all over NJ (including Ant from the deep south) and even Wayne and Barb from PA. Hmm, we needed to get Bob Dros next time. I think he lives in Sussex cty. If we get him, Ant, me, and Ang, I think we have the farthest corners of the state... Hugs and good winds to all. You KP7 folks are lucky to have a great couple coming your way! AdventureAng
What a fun day! Bri, it was great flying with you and talking with you as well. It was a real treat. And Deb, I can't believe you were able to withstand that cold for so long; I was the first to bail because I was so cold. Good thing I didn't wear that bikini, I would have been WAY too cold. But I had a lot of fun and the cold was worth it. I must say though, I can't wait for Wildwood. As always, it's great to get together with the Jersey Crew I hope to see you all soon. Bri, I hope you have safe travels to the west coast and maybe warmer weather.

WayneReed
The Big Bri Fly was a great fun time. It was a privilege to meet Brian and his patient wife Deb. I know she must have been cold out there. Barb enjoyed going on walks with her around the park. I want to thank Brian and Deb for giving us an excuse to take a day off and hang out with nice people. I also want to thank Antman for his patience when I tangled our lines with my attempt at team flying. I especially want to thank Steve and Bob for giving me private lessons in team flying (the 3 of us did figure 8's without tangles or damage – Yay! ). Also noteworthy- great laughter, great scenery, frozen goosepoop (well, at least better than fresh ), beautiful kites, ample if bumpy wind, serenity (it seems strange to have that park all to ourselves in the shadow of millions in Manhattan). It seemed very fitting to have all of those flag kites with the Statue of Liberty in the background. It was also great to see those amazing unique kites – Brian's mega vent and Union Jack, Derek's US/UK special, Antman's Horse, "fun-sized", and supersonic, and all the Bazzer specials. Barb & I took numerous pictures and some video. As time allows I will share the better ones. In the meantime, here are a few quick samples: The Guests of Honor, Big Bri & Deb Derek's kite and Lady Liberty (Sammy @ controls) Typical expressions of local flyers Parting shot of midtown Manhattan as we packed up

WayneReed
Very nice, as always, Wayne. BTW, thanks for taking some photos for me!!Great memories, everyone; thank you. Laura, You're welcome. I wish I was as comfortable with kites as I am with cameras. It helps that we had nice clear weather, good scenery, beautiful kites, and happy people. Here is another showing that amazing megavent. It looks like there is not enough fabric to fly!
Lauranyyfan
It looks like there is not enough fabric to fly! It's so true. I saw a photo (around here, somewhere) of a revoff that had almost all venting. I can't believe it could possibly fly. I'm sure it does and probably very well in a hurricane!!!! Choccy
@Wayne did ya pick up any sunspots on your solar scope ?
AdventureAng
That one picture of all of us smiling so hard was when I think Ant was leading from the middle. That was a fun time and way more confusing then even leading from the left. But you can see that even though we were freezing cold, we had a blast! WayneReed
@Wayne did ya pick up any sunspots on your solar scope ? Choccy, No, actually the sun was quite quiet yesterday. In the morning, I saw nothing at the sun's edge, but in the afternoon a prominence appeared at the right edge shooting out into space. I think most who tried were able to detect the prominence. It has been a long time since I saw a sunspot. That is why I only use a dedicated Hydrogen-alpha telescope (Corodado PST) lately which shows features such as prominences, flares, filaments, etc. You would have enjoyed Ant's "fun-sized" pseudo-rev kite. He had a tough time controlling it, but I guess that is to be expected with "fun-sized" things . Unfortunately I didn't get a picture. I brought and assembled my Backtracker, but did not fly it. Ang, I was not aware of the circumstances, but I thought that picture typifies the look of team flyers I see at these events. Between those big grins and Laura's laugh, I can tell much fun was being had.
