lummas
Me too. Doesn't look like anyone got it. Didn't occur to me until we left WSIKF that I could have had someone video it on my digital camera. Duh!!!!
Jim Foster
Me too. Doesn't look like anyone got it. Didn't occur to me until we left WSIKF that I could have had someone video it on my digital camera. Duh!!!! Mark I think that Lynn may have saved your day. She has two videos of Flying Squad taken when you guys did your two demos on field "A". they are both way too large (170 and 166 Mb) to send over the internet, but we will see that you get them on a DVD. See you at Belmont? Cheers, Jim Edited September 3, 2010 by Jim Foster
KiteLife
Mark, if it's alright with Jim and Lynn, any chance you could get the videos on YouTube after you receive them?
lummas
Am arranging to FTP them over to me this evening. Will try to get them on Youtube tomorrow. Only problem is, they will probably kill the audio as usual!! Thanks, Mark
lummas
OK, Jim and Lynn were kind enough to shoot the videos over and I have now loaded them to YouTube. Who knows how long they will leave the audio alone, but it works right now! There are 2 and they were shot (slightly from the side) in the main arena on the final weekend, once we moved up near the main festival. The wind was light, as you can see from the flag in the background, but it was a lot of fun. The first is Chicken Run, which is a Flying Squad routine that Jeanette & I have not flown before. We spent an evening sticking it and then flew it out in the field. It was a heck of a lot of fun to do and we are really glad we go to be part of it. The second routine was funny. We finished Chicken Run and the announcer said "that was great, how about you do another one for us". Well we had not practiced any more routines as a team, so this one is another Flying Squad routine, we flew it cold and Stephen called it. Again great fun. Thanks to Stephen and Susan for sharing these with us and to Lynn for recording them. Mark Too Much Fun
Felix
<snip> Felix, now I understand the pendulum !!! Very nice !! (3:40) <snip> Simon, The 'inline' circular side slide is what we refer to as the pendulum but that is earlier than 3:40. Felix

Stephen Hoath
Thanks to Stephen and Susan for sharing these with us and to Lynn for recording them. Mark Too Much Fun Thanks for flying them and a big thanks to Lynn too. Didn't look too bad for no practice! What maybe not clear from the video is that there is no calling in that routine whatsoever. Mark & Jeanette had to learn the whole thing and fly it to the music and put up with my "helpful" comments on spacing. Thanks again guys, maybe next time we'll get the old dual line routine out? lummas
Sounds like a plan to me. We had a ball flying this one. Thanks again, The Lummi

bartman
There is a disturbing lack of video surfacing from the mega-grid from people outside of the mega-grid. Bart
Scott_of_melnsct
that's the problem with being truly mega, not many people left out
bartman
Yes. Next time we will need to recruit people for this task I think. Bart
AldenMiller
There is a disturbing lack of video surfacing from the mega-grid from people outside of the mega-grid. Bart I have found this more and more with different festivals. That's why I gave "cap cam" a try. It didn't do what I wanted because of limited area it would capture though. On one hand it would be nice to have the video and pictures, on the other hand it indicates that more and more people are getting in their and flying... -Alden
Jim Foster
There is a disturbing lack of video surfacing from the mega-grid from people outside of the mega-grid. Bart Lynn needs to learn to fly her Rev with one hand like Steve D or Bazzer. Then we would have more photos and video than one could possibly digest. bartman
I may have a very narrow POV video of my area of the grid, but nothing overall. Won't be a WOW factor at all, just casual interest to another flyer more than anything. Totally understandable why it would happen, just figured there would be a bit more. Hopefully more will appear over the next little bit. There were quite a few people about... hopefully... Bart

Morrunya
Spence? Did Deanie shoot some video???? Deanie was handling Cass and Carol's video camera during the mega fly. It is in the video posted on Facebook by Carol. Here's a link that hopefully works. http://www.facebook.com/home.php?#!/video/video.php?v=1583193860984&subj=1584000080 Video of the megafly begins around 7:

bartman
My video from the iPod I had on my cap. Means more to people who were in the grid than the general public so I tried to include some notes for non-flyers. Tough to squeeze it down to under the 15 minutes as there really are a lot of cool moments. Some of the conversation was funny! Bart
