I have started to go through the mountain of photos we took from our little trip away at the French kite festival.

(I've not even looked at all of them yet)!

You can find some of the photos on this forum gallery already...

click on my link below and see the different sub sections - don't forget to look in the "Rev team" sections too.

More to follow in the coming days (work in progress).

Thank you for your patience

OK Alex I have now uploaded the photos of you flying into the sunset :);)

The night time ones are not so good as we were over the other side right by the fireworks!

Incidentally did you see our green lazer shining on the kites around your arena at all ?

Team FLIC (France):

Amazing routine on the Friday (11th April 2008).

I just wish they had repeated this one over the weekend too.

Those super vented kites during the 'X's looked stunning.

Then as they were leaving the arena they were all in a ball and then one at a time one would go to the centre of the ball and spin on the spot really fast (like a bow) and return to the ball... then the next person did the same *KOOL* :kid_content:

Photos are going in the "Rev team" section now:

Hi,

thanks for al the comments and pictures. The X's we call them wind mill(moulins in french). That "routine" on the stars(hyper vented kite) was a one off as we sometime do. We call as we feel so... Glad it worked. those stars kite are good for impro as they are to slow for a proper routine.

Thank again for the nice pix.

I don't think there are words created that can describe how amazed and in love with those super vented kites I am, I swear i's become French and join a kite team in a second for one of those. absolutely amazing any chance a large donation to the Flick Fund would get me one ? :kid_smartass:

Hello Ben :)

Welcome to the forum.

Thank you for the Moulins information etc

Maybe you can persuade the other team members of FLIC to come and fly in UK one day ? :)

Do you have both brown and black kites wth stars on as well ?

I'll be putting more photos in the FLIC gallery later today. ;)

There were a couple at Dunstable too (not sure who they belonged to, Pudsli?). And yes they are amazing. I didn't get a chance to try one as I was so new I couln't guarantee not splatting it, and they do look fragile and delicate - not a kite for a newbe me thinks.

Hi Ben, good to see you here. How's your voice? :kid_devlish:

Can you estimate how often you need to fly the very high wind kites in a year? I am trying to find out if there is a demand for such strong wind kites and if I should encourage our friends in San Diego to make something in that wind range. I guess that the winds don't get that stong on the California coast?

*wave*

We totally needed it last night when we went out to fly!

The wind was coming straight up the valley and funnelling to the point of stupid: 35mph gusting to 40mph.

Needless to say Groz said after 1 minute it was ridiculous and put the vented B away and I never even attempted to unpack mine *;(

So yes I would love a super-duper-mega-vented Rev like that for strong wind days. :)

PS> Ben yeah I heard you had to shout for the mega-team to hear your calls!

Great effort :)

They belonged to Bryan Beasley and his father Mr Beasley, I guess he does have a Christian name but I think he’s a bit like Mrs Merton and keeps it a closely guarded secret.

Brian makes the pies (but I don’t think he made the pie that the gorilla ate) and his dad makes the kites. And before anybody asks, no he doesn’t make them to sell, I already asked. :(

There were at least four at Dunstable, Steve (Pudsli) was flying this one if I remember, http://picasaweb.google.co.uk/flyincam/Dun...956329861310162 A little poke around in the album will reveal Mr Beasleys name and the kites they were flying.

The kites flown at Dunstable and Berck were made by Brians father.

The idea came a while back from Team Flics ultra vented kites

I had the chance to fly one in Berck and it was really amazing in the strong winds,

with little or no strain on my wrists and a pleasure to fly. 10/10

And before some people ask, NO he will not be making any for profit.

I am not sure if there would be a big enough market for a Rev with this much vent, it would

be nice but may not warrant the production setup costs !!!

The people I know who have made one for them selves have all said that 1 is deffinately enough.

For the more lazy among us the easy option is to buy an EXP sail and cut great big holes in it! This also works really well.

Flying tomorrow?

Sorry Bob, been over in BSE today (Bury St Edmunds), it was Cup Final day over in sunny Suffolk (the Bury Sunday League) so couldn't get over to Dunstable to give Gary his Rev back (the one he mistakenly left in my kite bag at Berck... lol !!!)

Who says kites don't always win, over football eh?

Hi Ben,

I was just looking for some way to contact you about Bristol.

Please do let me know your plans.

As Stephen says, I hope your voice has recovered...

Felix
