Kelly Alexandria Va The San Diego Kite Clubs has a traditional fly every New Years day at Mission Bay, Mariners Point. www.sandiegokiteclub.com For years I celebrated New Years Day Kite flying in the very cold and sometimes with snow to my knees. Last New Years Day I was in San Diego. It was sunny and warm all day. I would expect the same again this coming New Years Day. Wouldn't it be nice to get away from the cold for a day of warm kite flying?

johnnmitchell
I had enough of that! I'm staying warm when I fly this time. On New Years day it is suppose to be a cold 67 F (19.5 C) and partly sunny in San Diego. Wind forecast is ENE at 9 MPH. It might be a bit bumpy as it is from inland. Felix
Looks like it is going to be in the low 70s now with plenty of wind. 3 - 6 Celcius here forcast. Probably warmer than Germany! A few of us may be on Blackheath in the morning. Enjoy San Diego, maybe you can be persuaded to get to Portsmouth/Bristol later in 2008! Happy new year

Happy new year I hear that in Munich, it will be at or below freezing and snowing all day 1 January 2008. As for Bristol, there is a financial road block for me. jburka
22mph winds here in DC, with gusts probably hitting close to 30 , but we had an average of 7 vented revs up for most of the day, with long stretches of groups of 5 flying team. Good way to ring in the new year! (and it didn't hurt that Jim Hodges delivered my 20th Anniversary kite...)
