Felix
I should be at Brighton at least one of the days (except if the weather looks very bad!) and Dunstable, and Bristol & Portsmouth.Hope that helps, Felix! Hezz Hezz, How many of TFS would be up for the 36 grid? I am going to focus on drawing up a routine over this coming weekend. Thanks Felix

Guest groz
Its OK - they are mostly big boys So my 'personal plan' - sorry to be exclusive, but only I can be me - is as follows: 1. Watch the teams fly something that will look great (let by Felix, and if we are lucky hear a certain Mr. Hoath yelling as loud as he can - LOL) 2. Video the same - these big displays really do look great, and seeing so many expert flyers working togeterh really is awe inspiring - there's going to be at least The Flying Squad, iQuad, The Decs, Crazy Drivers? 3. Drop the cameras, re-set my jaw (it would have been on the floor no doubt) etc. 4. Pick up my Rev and move to the arena 5. Fly something simple with as many otehr Rev flyers as possible (including the teams, ametures and newbies) and see just how long we can go before we get too tangled! 6. All pat oursleves on the back and say well done, make new friends, re-live the experience for months to come!

No reply yet from Steve M, Geoff or Simon. That makes 8 definite and up to 3 others possible. Hezz P.S. Fab grid, Felix!

Mike
Starters for 10... This should be pretty cool, I can't wait to see it in action. Thanks for thinking all of this through and making the diagrams. It looks like you aren't using the numbers across the top for any calls. Maybe dropping the colors and swaping the nomenclature would be easier? I.E. using numbers for the rows, and letters for the columns. Then you can call odds and evens instead of colors and non-colors. I have a question to help me clarify a couple moves: How far does a kite travel in moves #13,#15,and #17? For example, can you tell me the location of kite 6A (the upper left kite) after completing each of those moves?

For example, can you tell me the location of kite 6A (the upper left kite) after completing each of those moves? Hi Mike, I wanted to leave the numbers in for further developments.... In 13 it is a 360 rotation, in 15 it is 180 and in 17 it is 4 steps for all so a 360 in the centre. As I recall 6A is at the same point at the completion of each transition. 360 clockwise/unwind, 180 anti-clockwise/unwind, 4 steps clockwise/unwind. This was with a view to having a point of reference to 'return to'. I think that the challenge is going to be maintaining peripheral vision on the overall process. I really want to get all the fliers to call the moves in unison! Thanks for your response! Best wishes Felix

Felix
oh, this is unusual right ?Can't wait to see and hear this! Having drawn the moves as posted I found that I had a level of recall of the routine that was somewhat different to what I might have expected; not a lot. As has been noted, some of the best team routines have been flown without vocal instructions, following a known routine and musical interpretation. So it was an idea... (along Chain Gang lines) The feedback I have is that we should still rely on an 'experienced' caller... and constructively, field crew on the ground amongst the fliers to relay messages directly if needs be. Actually, the idea of call and response could be interesting. (better than bickering within the team! 'You called turn left but we turned right, correctly.') Any other questions I have are minor and can be worked out on the field very quickly.
