Global Rev Count.

Oh oh. Is there something I should know? I got this slightly used and have been having fun with it. The winds around my place are usually 15+ and it has been fun. I can't make it do alot of cool tricks like you see on videos yet, but I am learning. It doesn't pull me around like my Peter Lynn Twister 4.1.

My only question is: Is there a trick to setting up by yourself when it is windy without the kite wanting to take off on you? I find this very difficult to do. My other power kites just sit there with the brakes on pretty well behaved. I stake the lines with brakes, but it still is a feat to get it accomplished. Currently I lay about 4 baseball gloves on the trailing edge as I hook everything up.

Hi Dude,

Nice kite!!

2 Options, 1 Leading Edge down and stake lines like most kites it should want to fly into the ground so wont take off. Just push thumb forward on one hand and kite should roll over ready to fly.

The second is very cool, lie the kite on its front on the ground, like it would fall over in light wind if you landed it and it fell towards you.

Now put both handles in one hand, grab top lines & pull (hard) it will float into the air a couple of feet, hold the handles normally and then reverse hard, the kite will take the normal flying position.

Have fun.

Try to have the sail lying flat on the ground, leading edge into the wind, with a little bit of string overlap. You can always use your knee to keep it down as you're getting the strings attached. Once attached, it would be best if you learned how to do a reverse launch. Do you own or have you seen any of the Revolution instructional videos?

ps. This certainly won't be your last Rev! LOL!

So I'm guessing set it up leading edge towards the wind, lines already crossed, then reverse launch, spin around and off we go?

I have reverse launched (Not from the initial setup) when I brought it down leading edge first. It comes up nicely. What do you think is TOO MUCH wind for the Blast? Its 23 mph outside right now. I want to go fly but better judgement is saying no.

Not quite. Set up the lines as you would normally, but then flip the kite over before you walk back to the handles. You'll have to flip the kite over using your handles in order to launch it.

I'm not sure about the wind range for the Blast as I don't have one. Perhaps Antman will chime in on this thread...

New member and first Post, I have two 1.5 SLe's and a Baressi 1.5 vented. Dont get to fly as much as i would like and only have about 30 hrs time on them. Can hover horizontally and vertically but working on upside down. Having a great time learning.

Hey Keith...Welcome.

So where are you located?

I am at Watford in the UK, just outside London.

Well guess that means we won't be flying together anytime soon.

There are however a great many UK fliers over there for you to hook up with. Your learning curve will be cut down to nothing just by flying with others if you're all within a reasonable distance from each other.

Boost my rev count up to 6 (+2 from before) because I just got two brand new B-Series in the mail courtesy of John B. banana!-dance.gif

I am SO excited. They are beautiful, and they even have stronger more durable LE fabric to boot! John, I must thank you again!

Congrats, Watty-

Use them well. What the heck, I know you will!!!

Have fun.

You're a good man, Charlie Brown.... I mean JB ;) .

What am I missing here. Did the sail material change in the last year?
Here is what I was talking about. The gold panels on the sail is made out of Texlon or Ventex, the black & white materials I don't know for sure, but they might be North Cloth, and the grey panels are Icarex PC31.

I'd prefer to have all panels made out of the same material, as you have fewer issues with asymmetrical stretching, due to differences in the properties of the various materials.
