I said somewhere that I was waiting for fliers to step up to the mark!

As that might also apply to the standard kites I am loath to push it at this stage! <grins>

Next year, maybe...

OMG "Red" my 'funsized' Rev II has just this second arrived after a very l-o-n-g journey from Canada

thanks to the very, very kind and generous SteveB ;):):kid_content:

Thank you so much.

*bounce*

PS it was great to meet Jay yesterday at the festival, where he had surrupticiously met Jonesey to try the power series.

He was also kind enough to let us have a play with his Rev Is (but the wind wasn't the best).

This forum is full of wonderful surprises and ppl :w00t:

Choccy +1

Sorry, no bag carrying... No practice either, it's always 'for real'. <grins>

The deal may be Blackheath on Sundays, at about 11:00am, Shockwave or Supersonic for now as I do not have the larger kites.

As Jay will confirm, I am there...

I cannot confirm how many Rev Kites are in my bag.

As some of them are 10 years old and are team kites rather than personally owned ones they may not 'count'.

Felix

Team Rev 1, Team Rev 1.5, Rev 1 White, 1.5 Vented, Shockwave, Supersonic, 20th Anniversary 1.5, and then the other bag... Stack of 6 Rev 2s, standard 1.5...

Add one more rev ... a Purple Bee ... no venting. It arrived Friday afternoon when the winds were over 20 mph with a max gusts over 30mph ... no flying that day. In fact, for the first three days the winds were over 20 mph and then yesterday they dropped to less than 5 mph. AAAAhhhhh! However, on windy days I've been able to sneak out in the early mornings before Mother Nature wakes up and get in a couple of hours of flying. Today the winds were perfect all morning - 10mph and steady. What a blast!

Day one - no flying ... winds too high

Day two - walked to the kite at least 30 times ... walk of shame is it?

Day three - walked to the kite about 5 times

Day four - minimal flying - no wind

Day five - walked to the kite once ... and that's because I had the bridle wrapped around the upright

So, the data suggests that I have the hang of keeping it in the air ... or at least not allowing it to flop over when it lands. My circles tend to look like a six ... a little panic and over control at the bottom. Figure eights look good ... will in my mind I can recognize them as figure eights ... maybe I'm looking for the artsy eights.

Looks like I'm hooked!

sounds like you need to head over to the kitelife forum and get yourself a blog.

You are at the early exciting stage and if you can stand to write what you just did above, then why not share it with others.

I am, it's great to look forward to learning the next step, then read back what you have achieved :)

sounds like you need to head over to the kitelife forum and get yourself a blog.

A retired friend once told me that he got up every morning with nothing to do and by bedtime he was usually half finished. I thought he was telling me a joke, but I've been so busy since retiring that I now understand what he was talking about. So, adding a blog to the day's agenda doesn't sound as interesting as kite flying.

Besides, I got into kite flying to compliment my main hobby of building and flying RC planes. When the wind is too high to have fun with the RC planes, it's just right for kite flying. Both hobbies involve lots of practice to become proficient, both hobbies have their "pros" to keep track of, both hobbies have lots of the latest trick stuff to drool over, both hobbies can involve building or ready-to-fly equipment, and both hobbies bring out the Walter Mitty (you do remember your high school studies don't you) in participants. Both are just exactly what is needed in this world ...

But, thanks for the suggestion!

Oh dear Jonesey. And I thought your condition was improving. Still, the eye looks good - did you get the other half of the kite too, or are you having to buy it in stages?

The other half may have to catch 'the red eye' :kid_devlish:

Does it need some eye drops: looking pretty bloodshot to me.
