Zen

Okay, what I meant to say is that after I kicked Paul in the junk he couldn't walk well.

In any case, I'm in for a Zen. We had very poor low wind today for a good portion of the day. If what Paul says is true it would have been perfect "Zen weather" and we could have flown a lot more.

I'm curious now that WSIKF is over and dozens of people have flown this kite what kind of feedback was gathered?

What needs to be tweaked? Where might it be at in terms of when can we buy?

Paul and I are ready to put in a pre-order by next week if pre-orders are being taken. We have our layout ready.

Yes, I have a pre-order list going. No price yet. Paul is on the list :) (oooppsss...East Coast Paul!)

Cowboy and I are looking for a custom colour pattern. Not complex (two colours, heavy on one colour over the other), but if there is a separate list for that then that is the list we will want to get on. I am not looking for delivery until April, but Paul wants his sooner like maybe December or January.

Tough day for the web cam. Looking into the sun, there was a lot of glare.

Those weren't actually the Zens there, though. Ben brought one out on the learn to fly field, which in those pictures would be in the foreground and to the right. That area had some pretty squirrely winds. Light enough that the regular 1.5 size Revs were taking some work to fly, but yeah, that Zen just wants to be in the air. Felt really good.

Aye, the camera glare was awful at that time of day! :/

Even though they weren't Zens, it's a good thing they were white or I may not have seen them. If you look really closely you can see a red and white Kitelife Rev in one of the pics. :)

  • 1 month later...

Will have a new promo video later today, featuring our FINAL prototype for the Zen... I'm overjoyed to tell you, this is easily THREE TIMES the kite that some of you tested at WSIKF, Baz and I have locked it all in with some help Steve de Rooy, thoroughly tested by the whole iQuad team... This one is so much better, we're actually shelving our old team set of Zens. :D

Ladies and gents, hold onto your hats... SMOOTH doesn't begin to describe it. :)

(I know the music is Chinese style, but it was the best music we had available for this video)

使用されている楽曲は中国風音楽ですが、禅(ZEN)の誕生に相応しい荘厳さを持って いるためあえて使用しています。

Look at the loading during rotation and transitions, simply awesome.

Flies like a slightly slower B-Series 1.5, less springy/zippy, but with more expansive controls and smoothness of handling.

Never mind the light wind abilities, above and beyond!
