What is it with you lot? We are supposed to be having a constructive discussion about two major kite events and you end up talking about 'food'. <grins>

Actually, as I first learned on our trip to Malaysia many years ago, the people on the other side of the Atlantic do not seem to travel well. They do not cope with the local cuisine....

SOOOOO.... what sort of cake should it be for the celebration of Revolution's 20th Year? (Should it be Friday or Saturday at Bristol?)

Answers on a 'postcard' or something.....

Thanks

Felix

Hello Felix

I bet the Malays offered you Durian fruit

They also don't care for dairy products.

Down to serious things: Cake

If I were there it would have to be.... chocolate (Dur)

On the trip to Malaysia in 1991 we learned about previous visitors...

I am not making generalisations.

On a recent trip to Japan 2004, we saw further examples.

Most recently...

How much travelling are you suggesting?

Durian was not 'allowed' in the building we stayed in!

Call For Fliers.

Please could fliers attending the events let me know if they would be available to take part in a 36 person team.

Given that there are 36 fliers recorded as being present at both events this would appear to be a realistic target. The plan would be for a short carefully prepared performance.

Please could you let me know if I should e-mail the team leaders in order to get this message through to the individual fliers in the teams.

Thanks

Felix

By the way, this was about 'Kite Fliers', not the general population over there...

I'd agree David... No so much a test, but a general assessment, during the clinic.

It's a good opportunity.

I am curious to know how many individual fliers may be up for taking part. It seems to me that 'very few' are now prepared to commit.

Stephen Hoath has suggested that 20th July at Dunstable would be a good opportunity to take things forward.

As noted elsewhere Blackheath, Sunday at 11:00am is an alternative venue in the weeks before Portsmouth and Bristol!

Hey!

I eat blood pudding and all the other foods mentioned--except marmite. I think you have to grow up with marmite in order to stomach it. :kid_frustrated:

OK Felix, I have been practicing with my original 4 line pig given to me by Jan Houtermans and I think I can now do all the required moves. So.....I am ready to join the mega fly at Bristiol. I am a bit nervous as the pig sometimes seems to suddenly accelerate for no reason, but I think it will be OK. All the best. Nick.

So, I am off to Suderland today to practice more. What are these 'brake lines' that everyone is talking about? Nick.

Are you talking professionals, or amatuers here? I'm very much the latter but wouldn't mind having a go. Due to a rather hectic personal life at the moment I'll only be at Brighton for some of saturday and some of sunday and won't be able to make Dunstable...

Ant,

36 person grid, 6 x 6! Very much for 'experienced' team fliers.
