Line lengths (pros & cons), plus handle adjustments. We already have an immense flow chart for the content... It's the most thorough thing ever produced for Rev flying, should stand the test of time for 15-20 years, not counting new tricks... Actual flight ability will be well covered. I don't have the words to explain what has been unfolding the last couple of days. For all the family that would like the inside scoop on the video work of the new B- series, I personally guarantee we got some video work that will leave you with your jaw on the ground. Shortly after playing around oh working for almost another 11 hours straight in the field . John and I got some dinner and decided to celebrate the big V-day iQuad style. We took the B- series out for a night on the town for some street kiting. As it sits right now I'm in a sensory overload from it. Definitely everything we could have dreamed for and I gotta say we got a whole lot more footage for you. The buildings in some night sky, water, OH wait I guess you'll just have to see the video of the B series your self in the streets of San Diego. Our night of street kiting on the downtown/wharf streets of San Diego was awe inspiring, to say the least... Fountains, illuminated stairs, palm trees and spotlights... Kites, flying and fun, oh my. My lord, what a great Valentine's Day. As Todd mentioned, we have a whole mess of excellent footage which will likely appear on Rev's web site, the iQuad web site and the B-Series DVD. The DVD stuff we got today wasn't professional on my end per se, since I'm just plain uncomfortable giving a speech of any kind. I much prefer standing next to someone, talking about the kite with them, and exchanging a more personal kind of instruction... However, I'd like to think fliers will find a thing or two of use, and that they are simple, key skills which can help give anyone the ability to fully control a Rev. To name some: Launching Landing Practicing the "clock" - i.e. 6 to 12, 12 to 6, up to 1, down to 6, up to 2, down to 6, etc. etc. Rolling an inverted kite on the ground Inverted take off Whatever else I've forgotten from the brochure that comes with the kite. Reason for inclusion? Introducing people to quads who need the absolute beginning ability to control the kite. From the kite retailer standpoint, it is essential to demystify the quad lines, initially, enough that they can keep the kite in the air. Then stand back and watch your newbie flyer grin from ear to ear. Their next question will be "what else can I do?" That's where the rest of your abilities come into play, John. Gives the newbie a reference to return to when they don't fly often. So, fliers will have access to the original instructions, plus some more advanced follow up lessons. I'm doing most of the editing tonight... Here's some of what you can expect: Introduction to the B-Series by Joe Hadzicki. Introduction to the kite and it's unique features, by yours truly. Kite assembly, and how to properly manage your lines during set up. Handles & tuning with the adjustable knots. Hover in all orientations. Bicycle rotations (no loss in altitude). 1/4 turn clockwork principles. Rev axel. Proper tear down of kite and lines. Along with this, some hot footage of in-water flying, multiple axels, the falling leaf, dogstaking and some of my general free flying. Bear in mind, this DVD isn't the "end all" in tutorials... It's just meant to give fliers the next tools they need after Joe's original. Over the next year, we'll be working on the full meal deal, a full "boot camp" in advanced Rev flying. Can do them once in a while, but not consistently...yet! There's a Rev axel tutorial in the Kitelife subscribers section. Oh, did I mention we'll have a handful of bloopers on the new DVD too? Very good work. I'd like to emphasize the beginners' part of your DVD, and the kind of video Paolo has done may help us newbies to speed up our learning. Indeed, learning with a master near your side (and I am lucky because I meet weekly with four of them: Team Bolau) is the best and the enjoyable way of doing it. But after less than a year of practicing with this kind of kites I still consider myself a beginner , so I'd like to learn and stablish the basics well, while I'm eager to learn the advanced. My entire family now owns revs and by the time summer hits it would be great to have an instructional video about team flying, from basics to advanced.
