OK, what are the sel-call or CTCSS codes quite apart from battery charging? <grins>

Can we buy the PMR446 earpieces independently of the transmitter?

Thanks

Felix

Hi,

As far as I understand andelscott is refering to the channel number and sub-channel that you need to set in the PMR type talkies so they can comunicate, isn't it?

The earpieces are just and accesory that you can buy apart. They come with one earpiece and the microphone, and the connector is an stereo 1,5 mm jack (smaller than usual MP3 players use).

For listening only, maybe one standard earpieces set equipped with 1,5 mm jack would do.

I agree VOX is really a pain, as it triggers 1 sec after you start talking. I like very much the art work that FLIC has carried out in a cheap talkie to make it "hot". Cheap talkies do not include sophisticated artifacts such as VOX control or security broadcast time out (broadcasting is not allowed for more than a continuous minute, then it shuts off) so they are good for transmitting calls.

Well I'll have a rest after this long tech explanation, coming from a non-expert, so , please, do the same :ani_sleep:

Thank you Guiseppe, it 's exactly what I wanted to say, except for the 4 receiver that we can put to disposal.

They (it) have been modified : 3,5 mm jack earpieces are requiered (like I-Pod).

Be careful : to make the batteries charged in England, we (i mean french and Spanish people (may be ?)) need an adapter of electric plug (i don't know exactly if it's a good term).

Bye

Sabine, not just Eurpoe flyers will need an adaptor, any from outside UK will need on Inc US flyers

Not to US UK uses 240 Volts, so if memory serves me right you guys need to be a ware of that as you use 120 Volts

Usually, if your appliance has this label on them: INPUT: AC 100V-240V~1.0A 50/60 Hz, then all you need is a plug adapter and you can use these appliances wherever you are in the world.

Proposed duration of each rehearsal?

I suspect that given the number of 'projects' suggested we may need a little more than 30 minutes <grins>

Please could Field Crew let me know if they are OK for the two rehearsal slots and the finale at Portsmouth.

(Please PM me with mobile/cell numbers.)

I would expect a similar arrangement at Bristol.

Thanks

Bristol Schedule of events.

Revolution Teams are scheduled at 11:40am (20 minutes) and 2:00pm (30 minutes) on both days.

The Mega Team is at 5:00pm on both days.

I have suggested 10:30am and 3:00pm for Mega Team rehearsal in the Revolution arena, again on both days.

The Revolution 'party' is now set to take place on Saturday. Further details will follow!

Hi Felix

is this list just for team fliers or is it for everyone that is going to Portsmouth

ie for the rev clinic and team fliers

thanks

Barry

Hi Barry,

The organisers at Portsmouth instructed that anyone who 'needed' to be in the Revolution Field during the festival should have a wrist band.

The Rev Clinic is outside of the formal festival.

I hope that this is clear.

Aye, Rev Clinic stands on it's own.

I have a currently full list of 30 paid participants in the clinic (+ Hoath & Mottram).

Five slots left open.

Well, as you put it like that, I will say that I am very much looking forward to learning more about your methodology and how we can maximise the number of proficient 'team fliers'.

<grins>

Best wishes

Felix

Hi,

I think I missed Rev Clinic explanations. Are we still in time to attend the Rev clinic session(s) at Bristol?

I mean the five members of Team Bolau.

Can you give us a link to see more details?

Regards,

Giuseppe - Team Bolau

More than dubious I am afraid Baloo, otherwise I would have offered some of our VHFs to use. At Southsea you are right at the mouth of one of the busiest military and ferry ports in Europe and just a mile or so from the Queen's Harbour master! The QHM would be almost obliged to call in the authorities to deal with a misuse of the marine frequencies (ie spurious traffic and shore to shore) in such a situation! Mind you the calls would be interesting.

Burst over, go over, stand by, wrap to ball over, go over, damn over, firedrill over, out.

I nearly peed my pants when I read this Jeremy! What a fantastic bit of slapstick - we could end up scrambling fighter jets and causing naval collisions! Ha ha ha!!

Guiseppe, the clinic is schedule for Mon/Tue after Portsmouth.

Far as I know, there is no scheduled clinic at Bristol... Anyone confirm this?

Hi John, you certainly may be right. That kind of stuff is meant for lucky people that can assist to the "in betweens" of both Festivals .....

See all of you soon....... :D:D

I am happy that Steve Santos (USA) Sue Moskowitz (USA) have just confirmed their attendance at Portsmouth and Bristol.

This means that we have 45-44 <practiced team> fliers confirmed at both events. We have 7 field crew at the last count as well, all of whom, in my understanding, are Rev fliers.

I am sure that, at both events we will be able to co-opt individual fliers as well... just in case we want to fly 50 plus.

Talking of which, please could we fly the 'framed 20' at Portsmouth and the 'framed 50' at Bristol!

Thanks

Felix

I have not heard about a clinic at Bristol. I am hoping that Ben can be persuaded to do Rev Games at both Portsmouth and Bristol.

I have wondered if we dare to try the 'wrong handle flying' competition. This is curious in respect of inverted flying and especially dog-stake flying.

Is anyone prepared to try this?

<grins> (I can assure you that I have not attempted it!)

Funny you should mention that - Yeah think thats hard then try it with the top line on the bottom and vice versa - hell who would do that !!! (Last Sunday, when at team practice :blue-music: )

Also any one remember Damian Quinlivian doing a blind folded rev routine years ago... When because he was blindfolded picked up the handles in the wrong hands. Thing was no one realised till he finished and told us !!!!!

I remember competing against Damian when he flew blindfold and with the lines attached to his thumbs and little fingers. I think he was about twelve years old at the time! At this point I retired from the 'innovation' competition. I was just flying flexifoils 'solo' ( through a dog stake, inspired by Lee sedgewick). Damian was a bit of a phenomenon to anyone who saw him. Nick.

Hi,

Please put Portsmouth 23-24 August 2008 and Bristol 30-31 August 2008 in your

diaries for a possible Revolution event!

Thanks

Felix

(The Decorators)

Final arrangements are being made. <grins>

See you next weekend, (and the one after).

Best wishes

Felix
