Felix
No problem, this is your post no. 421, (top right), back up a few to 409 and you will see where you quoted my post stating I would not presume to enter the team megafly, I would rather watch..Hope all is now clear. Bruce Actually, the numbering system does not seem to be consistent. Felix
The Kite Society
Slightly off topic but how about the alternative - "Cheap" Megafly - at this price you could have hundreds ! http://www.lidl.co.uk/uk/home.nsf/pages/c....Sports_Kite.ar2

Thanks for the link - I love cool stuff like this ------------ Edit: just noticed I have to wait until 7th July for this. One is not sure if one could stoop to such levels. Maybe I will have to send my kite-slave! Excuse me, I do not understand. Thanks Felix Is that a 'wind up'? Maybe I will have to send my kite-slave! By Kite Slave, do you mean me? I am already one of Stephen Hoaths official ground stake carriers, I am not sure I could carry the burden of being your slave too As fo Lidl I have heard they have a very comprehenive selection of wines: they sell both Red flavour and White.... I'll be there at opening time I would not bother Groz. Bought one about this time last year. It's a lump and the lines are thick string and of greatly varying lengths. You need 15+mph to get it off the ground! As for Lidl. Just won the the Best Value Supermarket in the UK. And why pay 82p for a cos lettuce at Tesco when you can buy it for 28p at Lidl Ian

david ellison
Yes to it all please, whatever the questions was - Friday night, Saturday night, "formal" mega madness, informal mega madness. And just to add a thought -perhaps one of the objectives for the i"Usemorebrakethanyou"Quad school after Portsmouth could be to assess all who'd really like to join the megathang at Bristol but are (understandably) nervous about stepping forward. It might act a training focus for all the fast learning folks who are signed up to the program.
KiteLife
I'd agree David... No so much a test, but a general assessment, during the clinic. It's a good opportunity.

At Blackheath, in the meantime I was suggesting that I would NOT offer advice, assistance and general encouragement in the run-up to the Portsmouth/(Sunderland) things as I have no qualification or leading capabilities... Turn up and do it!!!! It's up to you. <grins> [THIS IS NOT A SPOILER] Thanks Felix

Felix
Heavy irony and brake - nice one Felix <grin> <really a grin, without sarcasm> Thank you very much. I can remember so many occasions is the last 15+ years when my brakes were on to the point that even with extra movement on the ground I could not 'quite' put the kite in the sky where I wanted it. This was a reflection of being the 'lightweight' 9 stone as against the 15 - 18 stone fliers in the team. Needless to say, other fliers could not launch my kite. Robbie Sugerman made some comment as I recall. That was a long time ago.... Felix
Nick James
OK Felix, I have been practicing with my original 4 line pig given to me by Jan Houtermans and I think I can now do all the required moves. So.....I am ready to join the mega fly at Bristiol. I am a bit nervous as the pig sometimes seems to suddenly accelerate for no reason, but I think it will be OK. All the best. Nick. As long as it is equivalent in flight characteristics to the Rev 1.5... Anyway, even if it does not quite work in the 'formal' mega-team, the 'mass' launch of Revs should present no problem except if it is not a Rev! <grins> Felix
KiteLife
Aye, no prejudice involved, but it is officially billed as a "Rev mega fly", per the 20th anniversary. Also, having flown the pig myself, I'm not confident that it will offer the performance needed. Not my show though, I'm cool with whatever the locals decide. Hezz
Hmmm , as The Flying Squad officially owns 2 Jan Houtermans flying pigs, perhaps we could have a sideshow of as many pigs flying as possible!!! Hezz
