felix,

i will come to Bristol too...with the people of TEAM-TIME-OUT from holland.

so count me in please!

regards, martijn

Martijn,

Are you an 'individual' flier or part of Team Time Out?

Please be aware that inclusion on the 'list' does not imply that the Festival organisers can offer financial support.

Best wishes

Felix

Simon,

I thought that it was probably 1991! The bags and the tracksuits were kit for Malaysia. 'Training' the team was payback time! Jacob's jacket was from another team!

It was after Kolding that Johnny Claffey joined the Decs as I recall!

Which year were the photos taken? I cannot 'remember' when we first had Jørgen Møller Hansen sails.

How many of TFS will be at Valencia? Are you at Berck as well, first or second weekend?

We need to know <grins>

Felix

The attached file (as was) is now ammended as updated by Stephen Hoath.

Thanks

Felix

Very nice pics but maybe this discussion can have its own topic ??????

The Revolution Event at Portsmouth and Bristol 2008 is in celebration of the Company 'and the Fliers' as far as I am aware.

The Decorators are also celebrating 20 years of flying, our principle kite being the Revolution.

Bristol 1991 must have been one of the first occasions that we flew the custom sails by Jørgen Møller Hansen!

We recently, (a couple of years ago), had the Rev 1 sails re-made in the original design and these might still be usable at the 2008 events!

All being well we will have a new set of Rev 1 sails in a new graphic by Jørgen Møller Hansen in time for the Revolution event. These are designed as a set of 10. The intention is to auction 2 of them for the benefit of the event!

It would be interesting to see a pictorial record of the fliers in conjunction with the events. It should be pointed out that Drachen Foundation have stated their intention to document the events and so material relating to the last 20 years may also be of interest to them in that context.

Thanks

Felix

What a sweet year 2008 is turning out to be. :D:D

Lots to celebrate, and distract away from lifes other trubblez.

Looking forward to some fun and entertainment.

In the circumstances, yes!

We (The Decs) are just finalising arrangements for getting to Valencia at the end of March.

I hope that the 16 fliers so far identified for that event will be able to collaborate effectively as a step towards the events later in the year!

Best wishes

Hi Felix,

You may guess what my second language is .........grin......

You may write it in your list.

Greetzzz

Marc van der Graaf (Team Time Out)

Hi Marc,

I hope that you understand me in that this is a broad project which reflects the efforts of many people over a number of years.

OK, we are focusing on the practical aspects of bringing a large number of Revolution Fliers together at one time but we need to carry their individual histories forward in this.

Were you at Scheveningen 1992 when we were awarded a major prize? It was a special year as we had decided to give up competition flying. We set up in the 'single line' arena and flew intensively for the whole weekend!

Best wishes

Hi Felix,

While you're at it you may also add english as my second language in the list

Alard van den Bos (Team Time Out)

Hi Alard,

Stephen Hoath is resposible for the language bit! He is concerned about how to 'call' the moves in this project.

Have you guys tried flying 'in line' yet? This is an important aspect of what we are setting out to achieve.

Once in the air the team should stand in line with the wind, not across it shoulder to shoulder. The gap can be about 4 meters between each flier. When there are many fliers the gap between the 'in line' groups will be a similar distance.

If you have not seen the short film of the first attempt at this last weekend please let me know.

Best wishes

Felix

Hi Fraser,

In the event that you were able to attend would you be able to 'field crew'?

Hell yes, Felix - I'd be honoured!

We will probably need quite a few people to help TC at both events!

All the better if they know how a Revolution is put together!

OK, well I'll get Stephen Hoath to tell me how all the bits fit....! LOL

Incidentally (and I'm preparing for a red face here...!), what's 'TC'?

This 'TopCat' is the guy who runs around making sure everyone has everything and is in the right place at the right time when team flying. You'll see him at kite festivals :)

I'm sure the others will explain more.

Hi Felix,

We will give 'in line flying' some extra attention in teampractice, should be no problem ;)

But i don't know the short film you're referring to, so please fill me in.

grtz.

You are right Felix !,

Sorry, but i thought it would be better to have separated topics about these things but ...yes....they are very much related to eachother.

Looking forward to the festival , and to the pics we are going to make !!!!!!

Hi Marc,

Talking of pictures, it just occured to me that it might be good to set about recording images of the kites that we will be flying for 'identification' purposes.

It would be good to have material available for the festival web site/s.

Taking this one slight step further on, please could all the teams and fliers think about providing details of personnel and the background/history of their activity in kiting. OK we have been asking for names so far! This is the next step... <grins>

Let me know your thoughts! (that is directed at all the participants!!!)

Thanks

Felix
