Rev training day in the UK

Sounds better and better. A choice of where to grab your Brekky. Just need to sort out Sunday morning now. As was said previously there is allways the Mc D place.

Also KFC behind Mc D if they open that early on a Sunday or the Little Chef attached to the Hoccliffe Travel Lodge, a bit out of your way and not cheap when you get there but it's an option.

Well folks, that's me all prepared, I think. Friday and Monday booked off work, hotel booked and paid for, and sat-nav purchased. All set and ready to go. S'just a pity that there hasn't ONE SINGLE windy weekend day since the Ainsdale meet in November...! So I'm no further advanced than then. Grrr! :kid_brooding:

Oh well, it'll make next weekend even more of a learning experience, I guess. LOL

To anyone using Sat Nav to find the Downs, I would suggest you use the postcode for the Golf Club.

As last time we checked the post code for the visitor centre took you to a village a few miles away.

Thanks Bob,

Will make sure Big Bri gets the info as he's my driver for the weekend :D .

Ha ha! That would be so lucky, wouldn't it - hundreds of quid spent and an 800mile round trip for two days sitting in a golf club car park wondering where all the soft southerners were...! Ha!

Where will we actually be flying? There's a big chalk lion visible on GoogleEarth - is that the actual Downs?
Te lion is a mile or two away and not actually visible from where we fly.

If the sat nav gets you to the golf club and you can't find the flying site from there, then I think the petrol money would have been better spent with these guys.

For those without sat nav, maps to follow shortly, watch this space.

As promised a map of the route from Luton Travel Lodge to the flying site highlighting point of interest along the route, well mostly either possible breakfast venues or land marks to help you find breakfast venues.

The route is east west so I drew it on A4 (landscape format) and ran out of space so had to continue underneath hence the unusual layout with Map 1 on the right and 2 on the left But I think it should be easy enough to follow though.

Map for the Hockliffe guys follows shortly.

Bob you are a WONDERFULL Man.

Those sharp zig zags as traffic calming measures look a bit on the tight side though. Do you think I will get my Land Rover around them OK??

How far / long do you recon it is?? With time allowed for a decent Brekky of course??

Looks like there is all the needs you might want on the trip. Hospital, food, fuel, other shops, golf, place of rest!!

I am tempted towards the greasy spoon if it has loads of lorries outside it.

Dont then, that greasy spoon was there till you hit it with your negative waves.

Must admit though, could go VERY hungry stood outside it waiting for my Brekkie.

Bit fed up here at the moment. Been blowing well the last couple of Days but carrying a lot of rain in it. So much that we have had some flooding localy.

Trying to make sure my lines are matched up properly by winding them between 2 sets of coathooks about 25 ft apart. Also searching for my MKF membership card to proove Insuance.

Got today and Thursday off so should be all sorted by the weekend.

Usefull site for checking the Weather by the way Gary. Thanks.

I think we will treat that comment with the contempt it deserves.

For those that have applied to STACK to get into their insurance, I spoke to Matthew at Stack today. He has the applications, and hopes to process them tomorrow. He is also going to email Bob with a list of those of us who have applied so that we can be sure that we are covered for next weekend.

Now all we have to do is hope for an improvement in the weather!

Jeremy
