You’ve got it, I think it goes back to the time when underwear was not considered a topic for a lady, so if the need arose, to skirt around the problem they would refer to them as “smalls”, being small items of clothing. I was so inspired by all these Brit/US flags I had to get my own little contribution to fly that day too. Now, I just hope its moderate enough I day to fly the non-vents out that day.
