Revolution Event 2008

Hi Giuseppe,

So that was the 'easy' bit! We just need to add another row to make it 25 and have another set to the side to make 50.

I am very much looking forward to this next weekend in Berck to see how Stephen and the others have developed the 'routine'.

I will be at Uchinada at the beginning of May and understand from JB that there will be over 50 fliers. The language situation is obviously different there so we may have the opportunity to 'develop' the 'colour' row and 'number' column idea.

Thanks again for the images!

Felix

Hi Jade,

There should be video from Valencia soon all being well. I do not have the contact details of the person who told me that she had recorded our efforts!

I'm looking forward to seeing how the mega team is developing this w/e. :)

Hope the rain holds off.

Cameras are packed and batteries are charged.

Good winds

The rain held off.

There were 28 fliers in the arena on Sunday, I think!

We just got back from our little trip to Berck :)

Managed to capture the amazing 'rainbow' arch of all the fliers in the mega-team on the Saturday :)

(Wide angle was defo a must or a view from further away to get all the fliers in shot!)

Awesome... and the rain did indeed hold off ;)

Piccies to follow soon.....

Camping at Bristol

We have arranged camping at the Cotham Park Rugby Club ground, which is a 5-10 minute walk from site (depending on your speed!). They will offer camping for tents or caravans, and provide secure parking, showers and real toilets. 'Above ground' BBQs are permitted, as are pets (as long as you clean up after them – this is their playing field!). There will be a nightly cost, to be confirmed soon, but it should be in the range of about £8/10 a night. The site will be available for Saturday and Sunday night (30 and 31 Aug), and can be open on Friday night as well if there is enough interest.

The site is available for registered campers only, so if you are interested please email your details to [email protected] and put 'Rugby Club camping' as the subject. Please include the name(s) of camper(s), contact email, phone and address, number of tents/caravans and dates of arrival/departure.

Please click HERE for directions to the Rugby ground.

We look forward to seeing you in August!

Cheesecake on this forum, flies Revs and does an excellent 'job' getting a lot of videos made from festivals :)

Thanks!

Thanks to 'Cheesecake' as well.

My only disappointment was not seeing the 'spontaneous' ground sculpture that pre-ceeded the routine on Sunday. As with the routine, it was not something we had done before!

I'll have to go and look through our video files.. we may have caught that moment.

I do love your ground and air stack art :)

Keep them coming this summer, and I'll definitely try and capture it next time.

Regarding still photos: On the sunday I only had 10 frames left on my digital card (used all the space up)

and I ran out trying to get your air mega kiss! D'oh.

P.S. OK so I caught you doing 3 x pairs stacking in a row of upside down V shapes.

Eg "^ ^ ^" was that what you meant?

Then you all released to the ground.

Did your ground sculpture develop after that ?

The 'face to face' 180 and 360 degree rotations are quite a challenge. As with the other ground and air stacks some of the fliers 'forget' to maintain absolute control and expect to be 'carried' by more expert 'team mates'.

Interestingly, it may be that 'a very slow, on the spot rotation' should be the test for joining the 'mega team'.

I will have to be careful to avoid the 'whinge card' here....

No, it was just before the music started for the routine.

The 'A' stacks were at the end....

If anyone is in contact with Ben (FLIC) in Dublin please ask him to e-mail me via the Decs address or my work address.

Thanks
