I found the inverter! :P

I went and got a 10'x10' expanding cover, so we will have a dry spot, complete with hot drinks! I am bringing a camp stove, water kettle, coffee, reg and sugar free hot cocoa, cups (I got more), sugar, Coffeemate. I will have 1 gallon of brewing water, and 3 gallons of cleaning water. If anyone wants tea, cookies/snacks, or to bring more brewing water, please do!

Yummmmmm!!!!

I'll bring the 1/2 and 1/2 :)

I forgot what time John said ..... I know he told me.....!!! (edited...9 to 10 a.m ish.... :))

I made reservations for dinner.

Again....duh...I forgot to ask how many are going from field to dinner!!!

I made it for 6..... John, TK, me, Dave, and and and um um ....... so if any and all others want to join for dinner, just call City Grill, 503-450-0030, add to the 5:15 resv list.

Happy New Year!!!

Theresa

Aye, it's raining this morning... Gonna be a wet day of flying, see some of you there. <grin>

Bring your thermos full of hot stuff or spirits!

Happy New Year, y'all. ;)

This is the MOST rain we've had ALL year!!!!

I'm going to be late getting there....maybe it will let up by then?

WAHOOO!!! What an awesome day. :):):)

Tons of rain, but Walt brought a canopy and the delicious french press coffee, his wife Mona made a whole bunch of YUMMY half and half chocolate cookies... We were also joined by Theresa, Geezer, Dave Bradley (glider), plus Bazzer, Takako and myself... Highly enjoyable day for some hard core fliers. <grin>

Thanks to all that came, it really meant a lot to TK and I. ;)

Sorry you guys all had a wet go of it.

Would've loved for you to enjoy some of our east coast sunshine today. Our day, though cold, looked to be the complete opposite form yours.

TK,

Have a safe journey home. Hope to see you and make your acquaintance when you come back in April.

The word for the day was WET. I got to try out the new black and teal Aerovent, it is a sweet flying machine! Glider brought his vented SS, I felt like a total dweeb giving that a go......I can see I need some practice on the speed series. I plan to get the Shockwave someday, just for giggles. May need to have a humbling kite someday if I am feeling cocky! :ani_weightlift:

It was beautiful this afternoon; one of the nicest New Years Day flys I've had in the last 19 years.

There was a bit of sleet/rain on the drive up, but I didn't even break out the rain gear today. It cleared right up in the early afternoon and the winds were perfect for a Vented. I had a stack ready to go, but no one else showed up, so I just flew single kites until sunset.

Nice start to 2009, maybe I'll beat last year's record of 215 flying days! :blue-music:

Nice Steve, glad some of you had a good spot of weather. ;)

You too Rich! :)

FYI, April, TK, we'll be meeting up in Japan for the Uchinada and Hammamatsu events, she probably won't be stateside again until sometime in Aug/Sep/Oct when she moves over here for good... But then, we'll be all over the US. ;)

So sorry you guys had so much rain. Wish you all could have been here in San Diego for the San Diego Kite Club New Years Day fly.

Sun all day. Wind in the 8-9 range. Potluck lunch at noon. The sky was full of beautiful single line kites.

After lunch, Lynn and I started flying with John Mason. Shortly we were joined by Mark and Jeannete Lummas, Ron Despojado, John Mitchell, and Bill Pietrusza. In a little while, there was a ninth, but I never saw who it was, as I was next to Mark, and number nine was near the other end of the line. Mark called the shots for over an hour. We did just about everything you can do with eight or nine revs. No tangles, just lots of fun flying. We had a ball.

Again, it would have been nice to have all of you here.

Too bad you had a wet day. On the sunny side of things, you were flying; what a great way to start the year off!

As Rich said, it was a beautiful day here at Liberty State Park, but damn, was it cooooooooold; we still flew most of the afternoon.

Takako, have a safe flight back.

That's it! We are moving southhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. I miss Southern Cal!!! Connor and I flew all day as well. We were going to venture outdoors, but the winds were ranging from a sweet 7 to a roaring 40mph within 30 seconds. I can't change rods that fast no thanks lol.. But it sure is nice having us both flying revs indoors together. We are just really getting into a zone with it. The kind where you don't care what time it is , or how long you have already been there, only that you are there, and it feels great. I took some pics off the cell, will have to see if they are worth posting . Happy New Year!

Seriously, Southern Cal is looking really good these days. I have no need for snow anymore.. bla lol

We must have had 3 inches of rain today! And it's still coming down. At least it's not the white stuff like last week.

Thanks so much to Walt and Mona for bringing the canopy. :)

Made for great standing under to chat the day away with friends!!!

Happy New Year everyone!!!
