New Kite Reports

Hmmm. After looking around the forum and reading about so many members flying their new Revs and new fliers reporting their beginning flight experiences, I'm thinking we need a category for this somewhere if we don't have one already.

So Anyway... I think I have to create a new avatar as I have a new favorite Rev!!! :ani_punk:

Purple Haze had her maiden voyage yesterday in beautiful 10-15mph inland winds with 3 wrap rods. I couldn't be more happy! She handled wonderfully and even made me look like I might know what I was doing! LOL. :? One of the things that struck me the most was how ~quiet~ this kite is. I was not hearing the normal wind sail noise that I've experienced with other Revs. Since I was having too much fun and am usually a solo flyer, I didn't take pics this time, but I will amend that. I have no doubt she's going to kick ass when I get her to the beach. Woo Hoo Hoo!

Hey, you are missing some sail on that kite! That must be why it is so quiet!

You would think with a name like purple haze it would be anything but quiet!

Congratulations on your new aquisition!

Hehehehe. Oh I know! :? I was thinking that might be the case as well.

I'm going to have lots of fun with this Rev, I can tell!! Thanks Alden!

True True, but I think everyone who starts flying or buys a new Rev(s) likes to have a little space to share their excitement here. It would be kinda fun to look back on some of these reports in time and see where it leads people. :)

you dont need a kitelife account to read other ppl's experiences in their blogs.

Ppl actually turned down the idea of a blog on this rev forum.

I sure do like the looks of that kite!! The Aerovent.I'm very glad to hear she handles so well. How would you compare it's handling to a normal vented?

This is getting confusing:

non vent

vent

mid vent outside vent

mid vent inside vent

Aerochic vent

EEeeek I want them all!

And there is the max vent that looks like a spider web or a star. That look cool too but I like the "Aerovent" as far as looks go.

Hee hee, the "Aerovent", I like that! :kid_devlish:

I haven't flown any of the midvents yet (and I'm mighty curious, believe me!), but I have flown vented BSeries and vented 1.5s. Since I'm not skilled enough to put my new rev through ~all~ of it's paces as I'm still learning myself, I have to say that I'm as happy flying mine as I was the other venteds. I felt it achieved the same type of smoothness I experienced with the others, tbh.

Re the "Max Vent": is that what Flic was flying in Berck recently?

That was kind of the thought behind the post. It would be nice to have a cohesive spot where folks could brag about their new Rev-Babies. :) Geeeeeeez and you had TRIPLETS for God's sake!!!

Had a fly with the new set yeasterday, firstly they do look stunning up in the blue.Realy standout.

Flew the mid vent first in around 4mph to 10 mph, wind was a bit lumpy and i it did take a few minutes to get into the mid vent.Very nice indeed though ,but it is a vented kite.Which is cool, but i sorta didnt expect it to vent so much.Dont know why realy as its a little easier than the full vent and has more drive than a full vent.I would say more like a std non vent than a full vent as a comparison, with a sorta vented feel,,work needed at the lower wind range as ya can imagine, but not to much.Ther was something i couldnt put my finger on which was diffrent and it is a diffrent rev experiance thats for sure, reverse turns up i tended to fold the kite easy and it does look BIGGER.Probably the black makes it look bigger, who knows, may have been the wind makeing the turns harder than normal, but i will try again soon,

Its A Tough Job,But I Will Struggle On

Std kite was a real treat with race spars, top dog indeed.
