It very well could be! I have another pic in that folder that shows Dave Gomberg posing underneath the Kiteloft's welcome sign. I know it's from 2005 in Ocean City, Md. for sure. The flyer kinda looks like Jeff Burka to me. I liked the stack as well! :)

The woman is definitely the awesome Susan Gomberg :D

I don't know the people but that kite is a thing of beauty, is it one of Bazzer's?

I thought it was pretty neat too, that's how it ended up in my archives. :?

Sadly I don't know who made it. I know Jeff Burka also has a neat black version similar in design. Perhaps he made them?

Thanks for the exceedingly kind words! I'm honored to be compared to Bazzer...

I built the kite in the summer of 1995, having copied half of the sail of a friend's brand new 1.5. At the time I was your basic starving grad student and while I could put together the money for a skyshark frame and had enough icky scraps to build a kite, there was no way I could afford to buy one from Revolution.

Other pictures of the kite are available via the rev page on my site.

If you look closely, you'll see where I decided that I needed more purple for the left wing and had to add an extra scrap panel. The swoopy bits of the graphic are something I've been putting on my sail designs since '93 or so. I have three template pieces I arrange in different patterns to make the graphics.

The picture linked here was taken by Dave Gomberg, who can't resist taking pictures of his wife. I'm the flyer doing the tip stand on Suzy's hand. The picture was taken in Ocean City, MD at the 2005 AKA convention.

Another mystery photo! Number unknown.

What is it?

Who made it?

Where could the photos have been made? Tip, it is all European.

I know the kite and the maker but I don't know the festival. This kite is a little different to fly but once you get the hang of it, it' a ball :kid_devlish:

I wanted to get a team set but the limited wind range and costs made it not an option.

As for the location, I would guess Cervia?

Cervia is correct and I am positive you know the kite and the maker.

I am wondering if anyone else happens to know?

Would it be Claudio Capelli?

Ah, my good old friend Claudio. No it is not Claudio.

To my knowledge only his daughter Katerina is into kites. His brother is not and I don't know if he has any sisters or another brother. I never saw his wife fly a kite.

Would this be one of Kisa's designs?

Mark

You nailed it!

The kite was created by Kisa(Kirsten) Sauer. Her sister Anke is also very well know for her kite creations.

They both live in or near Aachen Germany.

There is an interview of her on the Drachen Foundation web site at:

John

We saw this kite at WSIKF, I think in 2003, and I have been looking for it in our photos, but can not find a picture of it. It just occurred to me that it may be on the video I took of that event. I remember seeing it in the air and how striking it was. We are in San Diego at the moment, but will look for that video when we get home.

Oooh, one of the Sky Delight Beautiful Evils. Designed and built by Joel Scholtz. I still regret not having one of those in the bag. Ron Young and I helped Joel with some of the tuning of the kite when he brought it to the AKA convention in Wildwood back in '94.

I have no idea who's flying the kite...

Excellent, from a guy that really knows it!

The guy flying the Rev is known for his straw hat, flies with his wife who also has a straw hat and lives in California.
