johnnmitchell
Right on! That was Saturday, the monthly meeting of the San Diego Kite Club.I suspect there are more REV fliers in the San Diego area then any other in the world. There was even a mysterious JB, in Turquoise and Black: It was a very tricky one at that doing a flip landing: Even a dragon appeared. The German word for dragon is drachen, which happens to be the same German word for kite.
johnnmitchell
Nice Place to fly then John BRIAN... What is nice about this field is that SD Kite Club flies there once a month and nobody gets in their way with other types of sports. It is all kite fliers having a good time. The grass is kept up excellently for a park, but not as neat as a golf course. Rain is a rarity thus the grass is a mix of Bermuda for the summer green and Rye for the winter green. They are both drought resistant grasses.
johnnmitchell
Mystery Photo No. 51! 1. Where is it? Year? 2. What is the red object? 3. Who are flying the Revs? Those flying the REVs and John B should withhold guessing for the first 24 hours.

Baloo
Think it is the Flying Squad by looking at the kites (at least some of them anyway). One odd one out though. The objects are persons in "socks". Presume from John's comment somewhere in france. Otherwise no clue at all.
KiteLife
The odd kite belongs to (and was flown by) someone who had not flown team before that event, but has over a decade of flying experience.

This seems to be a rather difficult mystery photo. The guessing is now open to everybody. If you look real close at the first photo, you will see a pretty leg in the lower center of the red object. Hmm? As I really did not know who was flying the fifth blue REV, the one on the right. I am guessing John B. But it could have easily been someone from Flic, Watnu or another team. I know who was flying the odd REV. I know the team flying the four left REVs and I think I remember who they were. Obviously I know the location and the exact day and time. KiteLife
Rainbow kite is David Hathaway, not sure who was flying the other blue kite... By the photo Stephen posted, it would be Wayne Fu from Airzone.

By the photo Stephen posted, it would be Wayne Fu from Airzone. Correct on the fliers. This was the only time I have flown with Wayne and we certainly threw him in the deep end but like David, an absolute natural. Does anyone know if he is flying Rev team in the US and if not, WHY NOT. KiteLife
He does, when he has the opportunity... But, he's pretty busy with his lady... When he flies, he's generally flying with Airzone (dual line team). Every event iQuad is at, he makes motions towards flying withh us, but never seems to break free for a flyabout. You also got me there. As photographer, I did not realize Wayne was flying with the team there. I have heard the team mentioned which is Flying Squad from the UK. But, where are they flying? What is the RED BLOB is in the middle? I know!
KiteLife
Berck, France... Last year's World Sport Kite Championships. The red blob is a group of young performance artists (dancers), brought in to put on shows throughout the week.
