Wildwoods Int'l Kite Festival

Recommended Posts

I'm so glad everyone is enjoying the pics, Thank You for all the feedback! It's easy to take photos of something when you enjoy the subject matter! ;D

Great shoot! In particular I like the night shoot, they are always very interesting!

Thank You, John! I know that you know you're way around a camera...

I want to experiment more with that technique. Those shots didn't come off quite as planned, "BensInvisibleRev" is the result I was going for. I know how to do this technique on a manual film camera, but my new digital cam kept overriding my settings. Looks like I need to experiment some more. ;)

I know what you mean Aero, much easier in the manual dayz somehow ;)

There are a lot more photos over on Kitebuilder forum under the kite festivals thread.

Not just rev piccies but a great mix of all the kites from the event. :)

Quack

You guys don't know how lucky you are to have all that huge beach and space to play on!

(pretty much zero wind today) :(

Your camera needs to have the capability of working in total manual mode. I have an old D100 DSLR that handles this quite well, but it was not the easiest to figure out when I was totally in manual mode or only partially there.

I hope your camera can do it.

Choccy: Thanks for pointing me to those photos over at Kitebuilder. I was aware of that forum, but hadn't visited it lately. There are some really nice shots in that gallery as well. I admit, my pics were a little Rev Centric this year. Too many cool things distracting me from the rest of the festival! ;) I'm jealous of that beach too, btw. It's a bit of a haul for me to get down there on a regular basis. :/

John: I thought my DSLR was on manual mode(s), but now I'm not so sure. Clearly, I must go back and study the manual some more!

In the mean time, enjoy these. :kid_smartass:

Lots of great pics, Laura! :D I'm so happy that you had gotten some of the indoor fly and the other huge kites in the air. Plus you had gotten video of the Grid in the Mega Fly, you even captured Red Light, Green Light...Yes!!!

What a great time, I wish we could do that weekend all over again.

Thanks for sharing Laura, very interesting.... ;)

P.S. is that rollercoaster working during the kite festival ?

Hi All...

Thanks. I honestly didn't notice it moving at all. It could be that I had, no have, Rev on the brain :kid_devlish: . Perhaps, it's not running anymore? Ant, do you know for sure? It's your backyard, babe...

Rev's and cameras,

I don't have 4 hands to do both,

It's quite a dilemma isn't it? I'm right there with Laura, all weekend it was a struggle between the flying side of my brain and the photographer's side. Sometimes you just need to have fun! :?

Maybe if you're Steve DeRooy you can it do it tho...hehehehe!

If you're Steve, you can fly your own team and take photos of it! What a gift. :sign_kitelife:

Hello fellow Rev Peeps...

Here are the links to my videos. For whatever reason, perhaps the size of the files, WebShots never enabled me to display these last two videos. They successfully loaded, but e disappeared.... very strange.

Anyway, here's the links to YouTube:

Also, here's the link to Webshots, again: http://good-times.webshots.com/album/563650193iIUSuk

IMHO, I think the two youtube videos are the best! To see John fly with one handle in his mouth is amazing. Enjoy.
