Sky Festival Productions
Hi folks, I hope this email finds you all well and enjoying the beginning of the kiting season! Well, the grand-daddy of them all is coming up in less than three, yes three weeks. There are loads of fun filled activities planned for the entire weekend from Friday morning to Monday afternoon including media day on Friday morning, the annual SJKF Friday night social, Friday night nite-fly, indoor and outdoor workshops, Jim Christianson's band Donkey Hotey, indoor kite flying & competition, sport kite competition, large inflatable kites, iQuad, a Rev mega fly, Rev games, running of the bols, kids candy drops, kite displays, a spectacular auction, the 60's themed banquet and so much more. This year will find the return of the annual kite flyer's group photo and perhaps a shot car race or two! If you haven't already secured your lodging reservations, you may wish to do so sooner rather than later as many hotels are already booked. This is the beginning of the summer season and Wildwood gets jam-packed with vacationers! Please note that if you have not already printed, signed and returned the registration form to please do so asap - there is an enormous amount of pre event leg-work that goes in to registration. Your assistance in returning the form in a timely manner is imperative as it results in all info being processed the right way the first time; a fast moving on-site registration flow; judges for sport kite competitors being able to perform their pre event duties, etc. Whether you are competing, flying for fun, are a guest or are part of the operations team, please complete the registration form and return it immediately. Please note that if you are not competing, registration is at no charge. Also, please be sure to include a completed registration form for all individuals who will be attending with you, whether they will be flying or not - pre registered attendees ONLY will not only be included in a prize raffle but will also receive tickets to be redeemed for cocktails at Sunday evenings Oceanic bar when Jim Christianson and his band Donkey Hotey will be performing - compliments of Go Fly A Kite! New this year and very important will be neon wristbands which will be included in your registration package. The wristbands will be indicative of you having registered for the event, signed the waiver and understand & acknowledge the significant importance of safety. Any individual who wishes to fly on our fields must be wearing the neon wristband throughout the weekend to fly on our fields. If you have any queries regarding safety, please don't hesitate to contact me directly or on site seek out a safety coordinator who can be identified by the neon orange vests they will be wearing. Safety information will also be available at each sound tent. You will find the WIKF registration form attached to this email and for most of you, attached to your Yahoo group "files" folder. As you can see, the weekend is chock full of fun filled activities and friendships - we hope you join us and look forward to seeing you in a few weeks! If you have any questions whatsoever, please don't hesitate to contact me! Warm regards,Beatrix 2008_WIKF.pdf

kellykelly
Not to worry we will play games everyone's level. You can always take a test run. I'll have my cones out all weekend.Stop by and get some practices in. The big thing is we want everyone to have FUN!!!! We will have prizes for flyers at all levels!! I have a feeling we will be doing blind folded games again!!! BIG SMILES!!!
kellykelly
REV games are when you have to fly around the cones/ buckets and do different things while being timed. The person with the best time wins. The cool part is we can make up the game to fit the level of flyers. If someone can't do something, not to worry!!! We want it to be fun for everyone. Again the key part is for everyone to be able to have fun and fly at your level. As soon as Ben get home from Japan I'll chat with him about the games. Maybe we can post up a game so everyone can get some practice ahead of time.

AldenMiller
Blindfolded Flaming Blast Stack. Antman goes first! Then, if it doesn't work out we resume less harmful Rev Games. -Alden

Lauranyyfan
Hey, hey, hey, be careful with Ant's stack, that's my baby!!! I can't wait to play some rev games. Anything to do with flying and I'm there . How are the cones and whatever else set up? How would you fly around one on the ground? OMG, blind folded flying? I turn to look at something for split second and... but, I'll give it a shot, too. Alden, can I borrow your rev for this?

You have to keep it from catching on fire............. If the stack makes who wants to go next? Alden you are soo funny!
REVflyer
My wonderful bride and I are arriving on Thursday, then leaving the following Tuesday. It should be another fantastic time in Wildwood once again. For anyone who's never been there, the beach is so huge, it's simply unbelievable! Of course, if the wind comes over the hotels instead of from the ocean-side, it's a swirling gusty mess on the top of the window and an indoor kite proving grounds at beach level. The Rev games sound like a ton of fun too, I want to do that as well. I also heard a rumor, that Scott Hampton is making a mystery guest appearance with all his fancy critter visuals and banners to share with us. RAWVEEDA
Use Antman's, it's used to the hard impacts! -Alden I think I see the new Rev Game...A rev-olition derby. or a ROK styled REV Battle of epic proportions. Or SLEs at 20 paces. Will there be a seperate fee to watch this event? Ahh Crap everyone beat Antman again. (that is always a crowd pleaser)
nobodyspecial
The blindfolded rev flying sounds like fun, I've been doing something almost close, use the shadow of my rev to fly, that is pretty interesting, and helps you feel the kite alot more, I'm guessing with the blind fold stuff you get a spotter to help you?
kellykelly
Yes, you get a spotter...... you might want two....... And you can pick the spotter
antman
veeda im gonna beat you for that one... as for the games a rev rok battle?? linesets cost too much for that.. i do like the revolition battle we could do that with some beaters.. make a big ring and fly with 50 foot lines and fly to the death.. good idea man.. lets do it
nobodyspecial
Ant, I think that could be a little out there with me, my beater is a B series...
