are they ? I thought a family room was £19 ??

Would only show £51pn. The other travelodges show £19pn though. Just the glorious British Way - they've had some inquiries, so they charge full price, on the basis that there's a chance that some people will really want to stay there.

Sounds like the Easyjet principle, otherwise known as supply and demand, the more rooms they sell the higher the price rises, I suspect that may happen. Sorry guys.

This is True Bob,IM, sat smuggley haveing paid the £19 for THREE rooms[MOCH,O THANKS,O BOB].It was always going to hike up the prices,as it always does, once the cheepseats have gone.

When i last booked four seats on the Net for flights.I booked them individually and not as a block of four. The seats are less exspensive booked as Individual seats.Seat one will usually be the cheepest and the forth the Dearest.Thats what i found anyways.

Once,we booked 12 guys on the Orange Bird over a period of two weeks. From the first seat booked.through to the last. The price increased over £80.The last being the KILLER SEAT.

SUPPLY & DEMAND[wise words Bob]

Thanks again on behalf of the UKs newest Quad Team,,,,

Did look at the M1 South one but thought it would be a long way round on the Motorway.

The Toddington Travel Lodge would certainly not be my first choice, but if Luton fills up as well it may be worth considering at £19.00 a night, access is perhaps not quite as bad as it as it may look on paper. True it is only accessible from the M1southbound, but on that part of the M1 junctions are only a few miles apart, the next junction south is the one people will want for the Downs each morning, and people can return each evening via the A5 and join the motorway just a few hundred yards north of the hotel, not ideal but at those prices you pay your money you take your choice.

grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr this whole supply and demand thing is annoying me now.

I mean, a few folk have booked into the first travel lodge mentioned, then the prices went up dramatically, so at least 4 rooms have been booked in another Travel lodge.

So basically Travel lodge them selves havent gained any extra money, but people arent where they want to be.

I personally would prefer to book into some where completely different so that Travel Lodge have actually lost potential bookings due to there greedy tactics. But Ive been sucked into booking in at the Luton one, so theres someone to talk to at least - the folk there will talk to me wont they? :confused!:

If this event had occured a few weeks later I would have been asking our wonderful hosts if I could pitch my tent on there back lawn, but Im only a three season camper!

My Mum told me not to speak to strangers.

So you will be OK as you are not a stranger, anyone who flies Revs is family. Come to think of it anyone who flies kites is family too.

It is a pain this pricing thing. I would have booked with somewhere else but had to go for the price.

Since posting the list of “Who’s Who and Where They’re Staying” I have had several enquiries about places to eat.

Even before Stephen had announced the date of the Dunstable non-event, Gary and I thought we ought to do as much as we could to make people welcome and had begun considering all the possibilities. Our original plan was to find affordable accommodation within walking distance of the good food and refreshments so that we could also make this a social event for those that wanted it.

The problem (and what a wonderful problem it is) is that there are rather a lot of us, different people will be looking for different things and I don’t think we will be able to please everybody.

We do have a venue in mind for Saturday, a bar, with bar food and sizable restaurant at the back for those that want something more formal, others may chose to eat first and join us later. I don’t want to name the venue as we are still not sure what the numbers are going to be like and we may have to have a re think. Saturday we were going to say something along the lines of, "tonight we will be at ........ and anyone who wants to join us will be most welcome". We are assuming people will want to make their own arrangements for Friday evening.

As has already been said the two Travel Lodges are only a few miles apart so taxi fares but split 3 or 4 ways it shouldn't be too expensive.

Bri you have such a pleased expression on your face, is it that you know something that a lot of us know too.

You lucky, LUCKY dog you.

I know you wanted that first prize in the Kent comp. Second with a (hopefully) bonus kite has GOT to be good.
