I remember someone mentioning line sets made in Germany. Try Googling it.

I think Vector is from Germany. I have some Vector line. 50 Dan which is about #110. Certainly nice line. It's a little rougher to the touch than LPG but response is better than #90 LPG. That could be the extra strength though.

Revolution uses Laser Pro Gold line for all fo their linesets. Other options are Shanti which make Warp Speed line and also Skybond line. Both are on par with LPG and it is always a debate on which one is better. Vector and Climax lines are usually used over the pond because it is more redily available. Shanti and LPG line is 100% Spectra line. Not sure about Vector and Climax. Spectra is a U.S. brand made in America. It's equivelant would be Dyneema line which is made in China. Dyneema line is not quite the quality of Spectra but it is much cheaper in cost. Be aware that there are many different qualities of both Spectra and Dyneema line. The quality is mostly determined on how the individual fibers of each are braided together. The braid will make a huge difference on how the lines effect each other when they are twisted around each other. It also effects the stretch of the line.

Hope this helps.

The points brought up by Kent of "A Wind of Change" are quite valid.

I once saw a set of brand new cheap spectra lines deteriorate to the breaking point within an hour of first being flown. I was with the owner when he purchased the lines and he chose the cheapest against my recommendation. So let this be a word of caution, don't go for the cheapest unless you happen to know they are good quality lines.

Also stay away from any spectra fishing lines. They are woven differently thus tend to stretch unevenly while flying.

One thing about Shanti and LaserPro lines, they don't like each other. This meaning don't rubb against each other well, sometimes binding. If you fly pairs or team make sure everyone is using the same brand of lines.

I personally had bad experiences with Climax, but that was on there very early versions of the lines. I have never used them since thus I can't give any opinion on them now.

I personally prefer Shanti while many other top fliers prefer LaserPro. I do carry a set of LaserPro for team flying.

John - hate to disagree - but!

I've experienced no issues between any of the 2 lines when mixed in a line. A lot of East Coast (USA) fliers are Skybond fans. They come out to WSIKF every summer and fly right alongside us West Coast guys! While a lot of us do use LPG, some of us have tried Skybond, and used it in mixed company. As an experiment last year, I used Skybond without telling anyone else on my team. We did a routine together and afterwards, I asked if anyone noticed anything different - no was the answer!

All the other warnings do hold true!
