Rev Bridle Set up

mwohl

Question

I just bought a Rev 1.5 SLE. The two red lines at the top, attached to the leading edge, were not arttached to the bridle lines. Does someone have a photo or schematic of where you tie or attach the the "red lines" to the bridle line? Thanks for the help!

Attached are photos of the two separate lines.

thats the over and under loop knot.. its a little tricky .. ill try to explain it the best i can as im better showing it in person .. take the black loop put it therugh the red one they will both look clost eogether and then pull gently.. it sholud look like a larkshead but with 2 loops tied together.. this part of the bridle is still a pain for me too ;)

Once you get your bridle setup properly you can make it hold a bit better by one of the following ways:

- soak the knot in hot bees wax.

- put a "dot" not a "drop" of super glue somewhere in the area were the two colors touch in the knot.

I have used both methods and they are quite effective.

pass the smaller loop in between the (flight line attachment pigtail) loop's legs, then pull it down into position. Pass the larger loop thru the smaller loop two more times.

Snug everything down tight by really pulling and forcing the pieces together with fingernail.

It makes a knot called Prussic (?) and nothing can slip.

The point of attachment between the two pieces forms a hinge,

keep that hinge smaller than 3/4's of an inch to eliminate some of the sloppiness in the flight dynamics. too much wiggle in the hinge area dilutes the flyer's commands
