Has the kite shop in Jockey's Ridge had anyone asking at all confused_1.gif

I just can't believe someone would just leave it there on purpose blue_confused.gif

Well, life goes ON wacko.gif

I've had no inquiries, at all, and so far as the kite shop, I really don't know. I'll be back down there, in a week or so, so I'll find out, at that time. Needless to say, I don't think it's a real high priority issue, with them, seeing as they are right in the midst of the tourist season, and selling kites, definitely takes precedence, over locating careless fliers. I suppose that they got tired of messing with it, because they have quit replying to my emails, concerning the matter (?).

As for the person leaving the kite, I'm sure it wasn't on purpose. I could tell, simply by the way it was packed up, that this kite was not simply abandoned, on purpose, anyway. There was just too much effort put into packing up the kite. If you are going to ditch it, why take the time to pack it up properly, you'd most likely, just dump it. This definitely wasn't the case.

Like myself, most all of my flying is done, on trips to the coast, right there, on the dunes. My kite bags are sitting right here, ready to go, next trip, and had I not been in and out of them, looking for something else, since my last trip, I can see how I could be missing a kite, and not know it, till I got back to the coast, in a couple of weeks. I feel like it was probably someone that lived quite some distance away, and isn't aware of the loss, yet, and if they have realized the loss, they probably figure that after leaving the kite in such a public, and busy place, that there is just no way they'll ever see it again. Obviously, the person is never on-line, or doesn't frequent any of the popular kiting websites, that most of us frequent. I'm about to come to the conclusion, that this is a "LOST CAUSE"........(we've tried)...........blue_confused.gif

Hey Guys and Gals,

I'm afraid this thing is turning into a lost cause !

We've surely tried, but it's just not happening............

I'm sure that everyone on the forum is getting really tired of seeing this thread, but my intentions were good.

I'll be back down at Kitty Hawk Kites & Jockey's Ridge, in just a few days, so I'll check with them, to see if they have heard anything. If no one has claimed the "Lost Rev" by then, I'm going to call this a done deal.................

The kite will then enter into another life. It will be used as a "trainer" and a "demo" kite, at Kitty Hawk Kites, in Nags Head, NC. At least it will be put back into service, and maybe it will help to bring some more "Newbies", over to the "Dark Side".......... smile.gifwink.gifcool.gif

Sooo true, so true!!

Hi Chris...

How's everything?

Hi Nick-

Good job. At least you know you did the right thing. It'll go to good use as a trainer kite.

Take care...

Oh, and here's one for the road.... lol... 3.gif

Ok, I'm back at Jockey's Ridge, and Kitty Hawk Kites, in Nags Head, NC. The temperature is near 100F, the humidity is near 200%RH, and the heat index is around 115F. Needless to say, not to much flying, going on, up on the dunes. But more importantly, the "Lost Rev", is still unclaimed, and there have been NO inquires, in nearly two months. I think it's time that we chalked this one up, as a DONE DEAL................wacko.gifwacko.gif

I would agree, you did all you could do. The kite will now help others :sign_kitelife:
