Lauranyyfan
I'm not sure how Oscar can become a Revolette. Since I seem to be a de-Revolette, I don't think I'm the one to ask!!!!! That's not true. You were just asked to sit this one out and practice a bit more, oh and to relax, don't get all worked up about it. It's just a kite!!!! Don't stress it!! Love ya... Keep on it, you'll be leading the team before too long! btw, I think Oscar would look good in pink.

Lauranyyfan
Hi Ben- How are you doing? I totally get the warmth factor. TI was certainly much more comfy to fly. With the Jersey Crew, we always seem to be warm... except Sammy's fingers...those expensive gloves, I guess.... lol Hi Carolyn- Yup, those patches and earrings were a gift from Alden.... a little taste of TI! WayneReed
Looks like a fun time. I was out at my local spot Saturday afternoon when the strongest winds subsided and had a good session. I have good warm gloves, but I haven't figured out how to keep from freezing my fingers when tying and untying my lines to the bridle. I can't handle those larkshead knots with gloves. I also wound the lines barehanded, although I suspect I could wear gloves for that. I am looking forward to getting up to Liberty one of these days, possibly for the Big Bri Fly. melnsct
Today turned out to be a great day. Mid 20s with SSW at 5-10 with gusts to 15 or so.With respect to Bob, as the Beatles sang, "it's getting better all the time......" Laura proved the down spar will bust easier than the leading edge spar theory today and added a busted race rod to tomorrow's trash pick up. Oscar is one of the camera men who works with me at the stock exchange. If you see any of our broadcasts from on the floor there, the odds are pretty good it was him behind the camera. So after hearing me talk endlessly about revs, etc. he made good on his promise and came out to see what the rave was all about. What a trooper. He is a quick study and within an hour he was giddy with joy! Bob is right. 20 something degrees and the guy comes out to learn. Break out the milk and cookies.......he's wants to buy a Rev tomorrow at work. Haahahahaha!!! Mel....???????????? You out there????? We left the lights on. why weren't you there when I got there???????????????

Come on up for that day Wayne, or any other weekend for that matter. It's been a while since we've seen each other; WW in October I believe? I have small pick knots on the ends of my lines (unsleeved) and still need to take my gloves off (thin tho they may be) to attach and unattach them. Just one of the many small inconveniences of cold weather flying. As for winding the lines, there is no reason why you couldn't keep your gloves on for that! antman
hey rich.. how are my leaders working for you??
WayneReed
Rich, These pick knots sound like an excellent idea. I always feel like I could weaken strands trying to grab the loop to undo the larksheads. Do you tie the loop in an overhand knot or undo the loop and tie a knot before re-creating the loop? Thanks for the idea, Wayne I have small pick knots on the ends of my lines (unsleeved) and still need to take my gloves off (thin tho they may be) to attach and unattach them. Thanks for the idea, Wayne At the very top of the loop just make a small overhand knot. Simple! No need to untie loop at all. Definitely try to come up for our "Bri Fly" on the 24th. It's a Tuesday but I hear there is a strain of Rev flu supposed to hit the tri-state area that day!

Lauranyyfan
REVITIS TO HIT THE TRI-STATE AREA: The only known cure is to spend the day in close proximity to Lady Liberty and fly. As the day progresses, the symptoms should start to dissipate. Rx: Fly for at least 8 consecutive hours, or as needed ... there after. Refills: as needed
