I'm still a newbie after 18 years on Revs, learning stuff every time I go out...

Just when I think "I have it all", something new opens up in front of me. :)

John... Appreciate your humility...

All I can say is...

"S-H-U-T U-P!" :big_bangin:

......Go fly a kite!

I'll be there drooling... Jynx

As a n00b, we struggle with both the tools and our lack of skills.

The lines tangle into horrible macramé, it takes forever to set up and pack up, the spars are on the front of the sail and the ground keeps rushing up to bruise our kites.

After a while we find a line management system that works and set-up/break down time is done quickly, without frustration.

When flying, time seems to slow down and a hover is just something to do while adjusting your music player, hat or sunglasses- it's not a difficult hurdle at all.

Another Question:

Seeing the topic of newbeeism was brought up... Wondering what the terms "Quadling", "Quad Trainee", "Quad Head", "Quad Guru", and "Rev Guru" mean on Rev members personal page?

Inquisitive me,

Jynx

Thats just a simple way of describing the amount of posts you have made, Has nothing to do with flying unless you refer to fingers flying on the keyboard :kid_smartass:

I must be one step above "Newbie". I can assemble the kite correctly, can launch and fly it without having the ground rushing up to meet it (often). I can still be prone to those "D'oh" moments, I get those "howdidIdodat" once in a while, and I find myself sticking the stake into the ground and walking to the kite, (head hung low so I can hide my face under the collar) just to return to the handles to try again, more often than I like. I don't own my hover yet, (I have it on lay-away) but I do get to rent it occasionally. I have yet to become "that guy" at a mega fly, the thought of flying next someone brings visions of broken race rods, balls of spectra macramé, and new and more complex sail color variations.

I think I am getting it, and it has been a fun trip!
