dadecitykiter
Hello quad-liners, Things are really coming together for the 15th Annual Treasure Island Kite Festival. January 14th and 15th on the beach at Treasure Island, Florida. Once again the Eastern League will be holding the Treasure Island Sport Kite Championship. Something new for 2012 will be the addition of Rev Games and a chance to fly your revs for fame and prizes. We will be posting more on this in the coming weeks. But there aren't that many weeks before the festival so start making your plans to join us in Treasure Island. Gary Resnick

REVflyer
We could run the quad-squared mystery shoot-out again (pairs ballet w/all 4 variables picked out of a hat, . . . music, partner, caller and kite), like we did at nationals this year. That first one was a hoot for the spectators, contestants and judges (who are spectators themselves holding up numbers as scores after each performance) and we've learned from our first missteps to make it even better. I recommend an entry fee and the last pair standing (winners) splits those funds we had accumulated.
beach
I agree with Paul the Rev games at Nationals were a hoot.... Ben

REVflyer
oops, I forgot the attachment! We need some 3 x 5 note cards with specific calls on them,... here an example of one which could take several seconds Column up & hover from the center, then leading edge face the water and go to edge ( in 3 steps stopping each time, pez down and roll-over landing We're also guessing on the time of the activity, but we should keep the weekend open for the AKA competition can you pen some text for the note cards my fellow pilots? please? REVflyer
here's a list of possible call examples which might be used for the note cards. We will pick these cards out of the hat and they will be used for both parties during one round with one caller announcing over the music. Next round we will pick some new cards, so we could use a lot of these darn things. Please contribute! Column up and hover Leading edge rotate left and then fly forward to the edge Pez down and roll-over landing Column up and hover, “odds” face left and “evens” face right Go to edge, 180, go to edge, 180, met in the center with a kite kiss Formation fly a double diamond box pattern, Stop at each corner and then rotating 90 degrees before proceeding Fly 2 concentric circles in stacked formation with the leading edge facing out Stop at each 90 degree corner, go all the way around + 180 degrees more, Than unroll it with the leading edge facing in this time, go slow! Inverted side slide from opposite corners, meet in the middle, unroll away from each other 180 degrees and then formation forward flight to the top of the window 3 flick-flaks in unison, from the top of the wind window, to middle, to the ground Axel take-off launch, into side slide inverted across the ground, to tip balance
