barbara
If you are an AKA member, several of our back issues of Kiting on available for you to read and re-read in the Club House section of the AKA website. We want to get all of them up. It has been published in one form or another since 1979. There have been lots of changes since volume 1 issue 1. As I pulled out old issues form 1979 to 1999 it was sooo tempting to sit and re-read every issue. OK, I admit to quickly looking thru them and being amazed at the wealth of kite plans, tips on why kite won't fly, reflections from members, and seeing how the association has changed. It's time to get our scanning project back on track. We're looking for volunteers to pick up part of this project. All of 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010 are in PDF format. We need help scanning previous years. What years could you do? Could you do 2005? Or 2004? If you have no back issues, they could be supplied to you. These need to be scanned into high quality jpg files, then we will transform into PDF's so that we have consistentcy. Let me know if you are willing to help, what issues you have. Oh, by the way, did you know there is a special supplement covering international festivals posted in the Club House? Look for the newest PDF, should be titled spring. Thanks much Barbara
KiteLife
This is a phenomenal project, very worthwhile... Similar to what Kitelife did with the Kite Lines and SKQ magazines. My desk is too full to take this on, but I hope some folks can get involved and help bring past AKA issues online for members to enjoy.
