After the West Coast to East Coast Redeye

Arrived in Wilmington, NC after an all night flight. Picked up the rental car and headed to our hotel at Wrightsville Beach. They took pity on the weary travelers and let us check in before 11am. Quick nap and we hit the beach. Ahhhhh, laboratory grade winds, 4-6 off the water with frequent Pelican flyby's. I think they freaked a couple of times by the big yellow/black B-series.

First flight for my standard with Race Rods. So responsive with the light winds, made a few pig-tail adjustments to the handles and I was off for a couple hours of relaxing flying.

After weeks of grueling weeks of work, finally a relaxing mental vacation.

More later. . . .

Are those lines crossed? Something is not right!

Busted! You caught it. Here's the story and I'm sticking to it. I bought had a new set of 75' lines. The right/left pairs were paired, however somewhat twisted. I was in the process of doing a multiple untwist procedure when my wife offered to take a picture before she took off on a walk. The tide was coming in and I was concerned I would be out of flying room when she returned. So I flew the kite up, owned my hover, the picture was taken, reversed flight and finished untwisting the lines. My wife went on her walk, when she returned I had a very narrow beach. She took a couple more pictures and we folded and went back to our room.

So yes, the lines were twisted but only for a moment. But she flew just fine and I had a great time. And that's the bottom line, having fun. :blue-music:

Well fielded sir!

Isn't it great to be able to see the detail and wonder? I often get the kite in the air to deal with the last couple of twists. It is probably a good exercise in 'handle' manipulation.

Having fun indeed....
