  1. Melbourne, Australia is a bit far away, maybe one day. Its on the bucket list.
  2. There is also this site, http://www.gwtwforum.com/index.php?board=28.0
  3. Surely it must be time for a trip downunder. Todays weather forecast is, "Forecast for the rest of Tuesday Local early fog, then a mostly sunny morning. Partly cloudy this afternoon and evening with isolated showers and thunderstorms possible about the outer northern and eastern suburbs. Winds tending northerly up to 20 km/h this morning, then seabreezes up to 25km/h developing late afternoon and evening. City, Early fog patches. Partly cloudy. Max35C"
  4. I am also a too far away to meet up with you. A suggestion would be to post a message on this Australlian Forum, "http://www.extremekites.com.au/forums/". Hope you can find someone to fly with, and more importantly, thoroughly enjoy your trip downunder.
  6. How about this one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! http://www.gwtwforum.com/index.php?topic=1647.0

  8. Both the "race frame" and "no snag handles" are available from A Wind of Change on their website, http://www.awindofchange.com/ Hope this helps.
  9. Hi Joel, Welcome to the forum. Good to see another Melbourne flyer here. Regards, Alex.
  10. The only place I know, is Kitepower in Geelong, if they have any stock. I have found it better to buy direct from USA, (A Wind Of Change or Kite Connection). I would recommend buying a travel frame which allows the kite to be folded into a much smaller bundle. Alex
  11. Welcome to Melbourne, hope you enjoy your stay downunder. I only have Rev 1.5's, a 20th Anniversary and a standard with a changed frame.

  14. This could be a suggestion: http://www.kiteconnection.com/cgi-bin/store.cgi or here http://www.cobrakite.com/accents.html
  15. Well said, Kent. As I said previously, I am a "lone" flyer from downunder and see no advantage to be a Kitelife subscriber.
  16. I support Spotter 100%. Flying alone produces a very slow learning curve. More easily accessible help would be very much appreciated. I am not a member of Kitelife, any tutorials should be available via this forum.
  17. and also this Rev 1.5................................ http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Revolution-1-5-SLE-K...A1%7C240%3A1318

  19. Welcome to the forum, from one Aussie to another.
  20. Hi Ben, What a pleasure it was meeting you "Downunder". Glad you have arrived back home again, safely. Ben in action, Adelaide, March 2009.

    Wheres Ben

Simon, I live in Melbourne and will be travelling to Adelaide for the Kite Festival. When I do fly, I fly alone, hence the learning curve has been very slow. I have been to Cairns, but that was before I took up kite flying. As you said, Australia is a big country, about 4000km between Melbourne and Cairns.

No malice taken, all done in fun. There are a number of Rev flyers scattered far and wide, but we may get a few in Adelaide next week, as Ben will be over here to join in the activities at the Adelaide Kite Festival. I don't know of any of very many flyers, never heard of the guys you mentioned. There are only two or three shops which carry a very limited number of Rev kites, in fact I think they almost import to customer requirements.
