Not been to Bristol B4, hope to go this year. Dont forget Portsmouth is only the previous weekend if you are thinking of making the trip over here. You could sort of get 2 for the price of 1.

I want to make it to both hopefully.

I am sure someone will be able to help you out. Probably be more info on the web soon.

Any of you on the other side of the pond that can help with better info about bristol in 08 please post or pm me. The website is still Blank.

I've just Googled it, on the theory that the settings my UK based PC may be a little more successful than a US based one, but to be honest I’ve not come up with much about 2008 or even as much by way of reports on previous years as I had expected but here’s the best of what I found by way of an appetizer.

Avril Baker told me indirectly that there was a problem with the previous Bristol Kite Festival Web Site.

A new site should be set up soon at www.kite-festival.org.uk

I have not looked yet!

Dear felix !!!!!

we 'll reach international Portsmouth kite festival and also bristol

keep in touch if you get more information about rev' kite birthday....!!!!!!!

se you !!!

crazy drivers...

Hi Damien,

Discussions are under way between various interested parties and there should be some celebration but the precise form has not been discussed at this stage. I think that it would be safe to say that any celebration would feature team flying!

I understand that light wind team flying went well at Portsmouth this year!

Best wishes

Felix

Dear Crazy Drivers,

It is great to hear that you intend to attend the events. Please could you and other respondents be aware of the following draft message:-

<'It is great to hear you're interested as we are all very excited about this celebration. We are still in planning stages and neither Bristol nor Portsmouth can at the moment promise to cover any of your costs. We do want as many teams as possible to join the party but funds and accommodation will be limited unless you are happy to make your own arrangements. Please let us know if you could get your own sponsorshop to help cover costs of your travel and accommodation'.>

The organisers need to know, on the one hand, the level of interest in attending the event, and on the other, the possibility of raising sponsorship given the level of interest, either by the fliers or the organisers.

It would be helpful to know who would be interested in committing to spending time 'flying' between the events, probably based at or near Bristol. Obviously this would have to be self funded except possibly for the core festival invitees.

Information about accommodation etc. will be researched in due course.

I hope that we will have further information about the Rev' Kite Birthday as well, soon.

Best wishes

Felix

Aye, looks like it at this point... The Bristol thing is just too big to pass up.

We're exploring having a 2nd squad at WSIKF though, we've got a senior member available with Todd sitting out of the England trip.

Will keep everyone posted.

I had presumed that WSIKF was the week before Portsmouth.

There was a suggestion for video streaming....

Dear Felix,

We will attend the Bristol event with four fliers.

Looking forward to it.

Time Out

Dear Ruud,

Thanks for the information.

I think we need a list. Can someone suggest the best way to do this on this site.

There are a number of considerations. We need Team Names and the Fliers Names, Individual Fliers, attendance at Portsmouth, between Portsmouth and Bristol, and attendance at Bristol. Obviously these could be flagged as provisional or confirmed.

I hope that we will soon have details of accommodation options for both events and 'in-between' but this is probably dependant on getting an idea of numbers.

Would it be sensible to start another thread for this.

Advice please!

Thanks

Felix

Hi Felix,

I think that a list is a good idea so everybody can take a look at what other teams are planning.

In spanish forum http://foro.cometas.info/index.php, administrator creates a single thread were the very first post contains a table of people that is updated by him regularly (nobody else can modify it, obviousy), according to the comments people write down in the following posts of that same thread. So everything is in one single place.

Well this is the idea.

Best regards

jose luis

By the way, I forgot to mention that Team Bolau :blue-cool: will be present in one of the August events, we've not been able to confirm which one yet.

We are really exited :w00t: and happy :blue_wink: to have the opportunity to participate in such BIG reunion.

See you very soon ......

Hi Jose,

Thanks for your comments. I was planning to set about drawing up the list this weekend. I have to go to an event on Sunday, North of London, so it maybe Monday before I can set about drawing up the initial list.

Best wishes

OK, please could everyone check the attached spreadsheet.

It makes interesting reading!

Thanks

Felix

Who is going to be attending Valencia and Berck-Plage (final weekend)?

After the 'proof of concept' fly at Dunstable yesterday I think that we should take evey opportunity to get all potential participants 'up to speed'.

I have attached the revised list (DE added as Individual Flier). It occurs to me that we could add other events to the list for reference. Is it possible to host it on the Rev Site?

Thanks

Felix
