Desert Rat Flyer
Saw a picture of rev flying with tails. Looks like fun and a nice change of pace Both my Shooks will have the same colors. so one set will work for either kite. How long and wide are your tails? Reved
I use 30' x 1' Prism tails on the wing tips of my quads. It's a nice change and people seem to like them.
mbro
I have several tails I've made from Tyvek, 35'x1" and painted to match my kites, I use Velcro dots and put one right in the middle, Kids love chasing the tail at the park, and if they catch it no worries, pulls right off.
johnnmitchell
How about this one? A REV I with six tails on the inner trailing edge. Tails are about 15 meters long. The tails here are made from Icarex P31 Polyester. Each tail is about 25mm(1") wide. They are hot cut to prevent fraying. They are excellent and slip amongst themselves even in zero wind as long as they don't get wet. I first tried nylon tails. Their primary faults were being too heavy and snagging each other. Where do you get Icarex tails? You have to make them yourself.
Desert Rat Flyer
All great info. Like all the ideas. These tail would be icarex to match the custom kite colors and I would sew myself. Never thought of attaching to the trailing edge. Love attaching tail with Velcro. Kids have a lot of fun trying to play with the tails of my 100' octopus.
