Popular Post beach
It's funny cause me and Alden started this project a year ago but cause of life and all it brings these are the first of many of his kites in the Masterpiece collection that we just got.... It's weird cause Alden is a great artist, a great sewer, but what gets by is how much he really brings when he's at a events, he flies all day, he shows his wonderful Jimmy stack, he helps others all the time, and he gives his all...... His talents are many but the man inside is golden, it's an honor to call him Family and it's even a greater honor to call him brother..... Your work speaks for itself but it's what inside that really matters........ Ben Alden dabbled in kites as a child and into his early 20’s. Paper Eddy kites made from the comics and Gayla bat kites are what he got started with. About ten years ago after starting a new job the work stress carried over to vacation at the beach. His wife suggested that he used to like to fly kites, why didn’t he try that again. The next day after a trip to the Kite Loft he was flying again. After flying for a couple hours he realized he did not think about work or anything else during that time. The next day he bought another kite and it was downhill from there. Soon after he found the Revolution kites on the Internet, bought one and became fascinated with learning to fly them. After searching for a local flier to learn from he met Paul LaMasters at the Smithsonian Indoor. Paul commented that Alden would own a bag full of kites, be building his own kites, and become President of Wings Over Washington all within the next year. Alden went home and told his wife what Paul said and then said, “That guys nuts”. A year later two out of the three things came true but he still thinks Paul is nuts. P.S. There are only two kites left out of four.......
