lamrith
Coastal Inn & Suites still has rooms available, and if you look for them on tripadvisor, there is a $10off coupon.. It says $69off, but that is a typo and only $10off. Single queen room is $49.99/night +tax after the coupon... I have not stayed there before, just wanted to share since thier rates seem good, and the rooms were remodeled on the last few years... lamrith
Hrmmmm Something tells me he is ready for a Rev Clinic... We spent the entire day 10:15am-2:30pm at the park and he never batted an eye. Problem now is that he thinks the Midvent is his. Driving in late Fri night, We will see you all Sat morning!
lamrith
So does anyone have a Full vent B they could part with? My bank account is dry, but with 2 pilots now I need to get something for when the wind is up over 10mph so we can both fly comfortably. Hopefully someone has a Old B laying around they could part with cheap now that you all have Pro series.... Kite, frame, bag is all I really need, but let me know anything you have.. lamrith
Woot!! 30min then off for weekend of fun @ Rev clinic. Better yet my Full vent just arrived in time for a breezy weekend!! Just in case some people did not see John's email update today, here is some news on clinic location. Please be advised... The Sid Snyder (Kite Museum) beach approach will be closed to vehicle traffic starting Sunday, although folks can still walk from the street. With this in mind, we'll be meeting at the Bolstad (main) beach approach which will still allow drive-on traffic headed north from there. The up side, there should be at least a couple of shelters there, and the beach should be slightly wider as well. Special thanks to Howard Matthews for getting these details for us. flexifoil21
Had a great time at the clinic - John and Spence were super patient with us beginners. It was my 10 year old son's first time flying a Rev and now he's hooked. It was really helpful having someone checkout our equipment and tell us what we were doing wrong. I have a Supersonic that I've been flying (poorly) for the last 10+ years. John pointed out that I had the spars on wrong - had them on the front side instead of the back. The spars really didn't seem to fit that way, but the kite sure flew a lot better! Anyway, it was really useful to have John and Spence help us work out the kinks. I'd highly recommend going to a clinic with them - their passion for flying kites really comes thru. The only negative thing about the weekend was having them actually fly my kites. Now I no longer have a scapegoat to blame - the kites fly just fine, the problem is the operator:kid_brooding: Oh well, guess that just means I need to spend more time on the beach! Happens to us all... I still remembering an old school guy doing bicycle rotations with my B series and it just looked like black magic to me since I couldn't make it do anything close. Fortunately, I have had many opportunities to pay this one forward since that day (and if I've done my job well, they too will get to pay it forward)
