barbara
The earthquake and tsunami of March 11 devastated much of Japan. As kitefliers, we all share the same sky, and now we need to help our friends in one of kiting's earliest homes. Please make a donation to our special Japan Kite Friends fund. Proceeds will be sent to the Japan Kite Association, for use in both humanitarian aid and for repairing damage to the Japan Kite Museum. All donations are tax-deductible. All donors will be entered into a drawing for some special kite prizes (to be held at the end of National Kite Month). Thank you for helping to keep Japan's kites flying! If you would like to help out by donating a prize, please contact Phil Broder. Already Jon Burkhardt and Barbara Meyer have agreed to donate kites. Kitelife.com is donating 3-one year subscriptions. This effort is being undertaken by the AKA, Drachen Foundation, Kitelife.com and Revolution Kites. We urge you to help. All monies raised go to Japan, none will be kept. Reports indicate that all kiters are alive, no deaths, but many are in very difficult circumstances. You can donate by using the donation button on our home page: http://aka.kite.org/ Or, by mailing a check to Box 1614, Walla Walla WA 99362. Make checks out to the AKA and note they are for the Japan Kitefliers Fund. thanks much Barbara
TAKAKO
Thank you Barbara, and all who are involved with this effort. Really great help for Japan. Thank you very much on behalf of the Japanese. I will write some about this in the next Kitelife Magazine, giving more info about the earthquake, tsunami and their effects.
