If a large field was made available exclusively to Rev fliers I am sure you could put on suitable entertainment during the Day.

Rev Games and such.

It may be that the main arena will be made bigger to allow for the 100 attempt though.

Message posted at the other place:-

"OK Gérard has asked for a decision. From a cursory glance at responses here I think that we would be lucky to have 64. If anyone thinks otherwise please let me know soonest. Thanks Felix"

We may need to be prepared to demonstrate how we could occupy the field in an organised event in 2012...

Felix

That depends... do you think we can persuade him to install a giant dinosaur in the field? Entertainment guaranteed!

I think that the Rev Field at Portsmouth 2010 worked very well given that it was not very large. The dinosaur got burnt down later, as I understand it.

A large structure was built at Knokke one year!

The Dinosaur was found to have died of natural causes!!! The rain leaked in and shorted out the electric lighting system that caused the fire.

2013 will be the silver jubilee for Revolution. Perhaps there is enough time to get something organised for then, and even Portsmouth 2013 - providing the council keeps the funding going.

I might even be good enough to participate by then. Sadly there is no news on the return of the Dinosaur as yet.

Cheers

Stephen

The now sadly ex dinosaur was on a tour of the UK and before it spontaneously combusted and was due to visit Colchester next, there has been talk locally of a Colchester Art group funding another, so it may yet rise from the ashes.

I'm going to start a new thread re. Beck 2012!

There is a chance...

I do not know how it is progressing!

On another level, we are short of a team flier for the Friday - Monday last weekend of Berck and Tuesday - Monday Cervia due to work and domestic issues for a number of the usual team fliers.

Please PM me if you think that you could integrate with The Decs 'modus operandi' at short notice and attend these two events. We know that it can be done as at Long Beach 2010 but would appreciate it if only those with a serious commitment apply for this 'interesting opportunity'.

Attendance at Blackheath (Sundays) in the interim would be helpful... <grins>

Thanks

I think that John means 2011. However, on reflection more generally it seems that in a practical sense, getting 100 fliers to commit to an event ahead of the organiser agreeing to go ahead with the organisation of 'said' event is a bit of a 'lost cause' and on that basis I will withdraw from efforts to obtain the Kafka-esque result.

Personally I remain committed to the concept of the 100/108 fliers scenario, of course <grins>

Hi Alex,

Gerard had made it clear that he needed confirmation that 100 fliers would be available. Obviously I could not personally confirm that on the basis of Face Book and other places so his plan could not go forwards.

I am waiting to hear about plans for an event at the end of August 2011 but have no further information at this stage.

Best wishes

Felix

Happily we found a 'brave volunteer' for the Berck event so all being well we will be eight fliers Friday - Monday with the advance guard of four Tuesday - Thursday.

And the event has started with a four person Rev Team in evidence via the following URL:-

TFS have been on the Beach flying in Very light winds today. I've been following progress via twitter, check our home page for the link.

Beer tent is up and running &WiFi connected.

Looks good, BTW £29 day returns are still available from Euro tunnel. I'm thinking a day trip next Saturday might be in order :blue-cool:

Hi Felix, Yeah VERY light Winds :o) Always light at Berck :kid_smartass:

Hmm!? Oh well, I had the light wind moment at Victoria Park today when it became evident that the kite had been in air moving in one direction but was abruptly in air moving in the opposite direction. Admittedly the wind speeds concerned were not very high but it was disconcerting to see the curvature of the lines reversing.
