LS Kite Stakes
I now have a smaller pocket version of the Original Marble Kite stake. I had a few finished for the Team Clinic at Kitehenge and was able to show them off. I got some very positive responses. These are the same design as their bigger cousins, but with a smaller marble and a 6 inch stainless steel rod, all polished to the same chrome like finish. Now for the kicker. These are available in more colors. I have purple with white swirls, red with white swirls, among others. These fit in your back pocket, no holster needed. These are perfect for grass fields where a longer stake is not needed!
fortflyer
Great idea how is the size comparison of the marble to the original. Only downside to these is they will probably disappear even faster than the regular ones, Those seem to grow legs really easy as it is. Maybe Walt can post a pic of comparision of the std. and the mini. I'm on my second one already. As long as you put them in your pocket you should be able to keep them around a long time. Just don't put it in the waist band of your athletic shorts without tightening the waist string while doing alot of moving. I was bummed and looked, along with the rest of the clinic attendee's for quite a while. Trying to keep up on the tail end of JB, Watty and Steve D was sooooo much fun I didn't notice dropping it. The Hinge suddenly gets HUGE when your looking for a little Orange marble. GOOD save Walt The Mini's are just too cool. Everyone should have at least one of each of Walts stakes. sailor99
As long as you put them in your pocket you should be able to keep them around a long time.We had an electrician come round to do some work when I was a boy. He put his screwdriver in his pocket, then forgot about it. A little later he tripped, landed on the floor and the screwdriver was thrust into his groin just missing the femoral artery. Blood everywhere. He was only in hospital a couple of hours, but it could have been much more tragic. Not sure I would put one in my pocket. They do look great, but I'd still want a holster.

I think this one was by putting the screwdriver in his *front* pocket, not his rear. Kind of hard to see how a bad accident could happen with it in your rear pocket (unless you count tearing your expensive jeans as a tragedy). On a side note, there was a tragedy here a few years ago. Simply fell with his keys in his front pocket, and landed in such a way that the femoral artery was cut. He didn't stand a chance.
dean750
Another thing to point out is that Walt isn't sharpening the..... tip. I don't think you can even scratch yourself with one of his stakes. Well, maybe if you tried REALLY hard. But that wouldn't be the stakes fault, would it? The only worry really is if your free b!@@#$', using your crack as the holster and you manage to hit the stake on the marble end in just the right way to angle the tip toward your ummmmmm, "you know" and land on the marble at the same time. You could almost brag about it, if you could manage to make it happen. Boy, there was a deep thought. Dean

LS Kite Stakes
My bad..... I am asking $15 each, and I will ship them free to any forum member in the US. I did intend for them to be put in the BACK pocket, marble first. I did not intend for them to be put in the front pockets, I can see that causing possible problems.... Good description or a personal achievment? Blaming porn for a deep thought I had is like blaming a cigarette smoker for lung cancer. You know I'm somewhat kidding here right? Baloo
Having spent some most of my working life in the emergency services the thought that comes to mind is "if it could happen, it probably will" You probably wont be suprised at the things I have found in body orifices, (and the associated excuses) and puncturing bodies, (pretty much everything from a fence post down to a pencil, have you felt how sharp a newly sharpened pencil is?) I would applaud caution at putting shap objects in pockets, and by sharp I would include the bluntest of kite stakes. Have you ever heard the question "Which would you rather have stand on your foot, an Elephant of a Lady in stiletto heels?" just think about the surface area of that heel!! If you want to take the risk, cool, its your butt, be sure to send us a picture. I would rather use a holster, but then no one ever said I was too adventurous. :-) Nice stakes btw Walt. dean750
Looks like another venture WaltHOLSTERS BRIAN... Not a bad idea by any means. But the whole pocket stake thing is for those who have a problem snagging the stake on their hip with the lines. I personally never noticed snaggage until a rather well known person said something about it. Since saftey is an issue, how about ankle holsters?
