play365
Hello Gary, cant wait to meet ya,herd alot about ya from my partner, anyways,,,,THANKS FOR THE TIPS AND STUFF.The Pier,i will post the picture of the thing you can walk on.Will hopefully do later today.Dont want to give to much away as i bet our Hosts havent ever seen such a fine example . Ther was a fire down ther many moons ago,but cash flooded into that area in the 80s and its part of a, ,The Way we Where visitors center,,,trip back in time thing they do. Before you say it,thers no Tardis or Star Treck gizmos ,Just a look back in time with period costume and stuff. I bounced at the pier Night Club for near Ten years.Which is situated at the side of the WIGAN PIER and The George Orwell Pub.Great dance club and a real crowd puller in the late 80s and 90s.Still is. I think its WIGAN CASINO you may be refareing to.It burnt down early eighties,or even 1979/80.I went to school with the clown they got for burning it down. The Hart Of Northern Sole was the CASINO.Its still a big deal around here and allnighters and stuff still are regular, but at diffrent venues now, Remember the theme to, HAWAI FIVE O,,its called THE WIGAN JOKER. PICTURES TO FOLLOW SOON. TTFN GARY,,da,da,dada, daaa,da,,,da,da,da,da,daaaa, hows it go BRIAN... I will admit to being a soul boy back then but as london is the center of the known universe and wigan is north of Waford Gap I never got there could'nt speak the lingo

Fraserx
Great WTC shots, Jay! It's nice to see the NYC skyline that I remember so well. :'( S'the same for us here, Aero. We get so much TV from you and see so many movies, that the NY skyline is as familiar to us as to you - well, certainly to those of you non-New Yorkers. Every time I see The Towers it gives me a shiver.

I used to travel to NYC alot. I have friends and ex lovers there. I can't express how wrong the place felt the first time I went back after 911. I know at first many TV shows with the former skyline were getting pulled from the airwaves, or edited without the towers, in an effort to be considerate of the trauma people were going through, but now it makes me glad to see them on tv, movies and photos like Jay's out there. johnnmitchell
Some where I saw a photo of some one either flying or holding a REV 1.5 next to the Great Wall of China. Was it Troy Gunn?
johnnmitchell
I love this topic. I have gone nuts looking for a great shot flying by the Cape Fla. Lighthouse(Miami). No luck yet Grrrr. I want one with the Shuttle taking off in the background. I will try again next launch. I hope you are trying to get a photo of your REV today, if the Space Shuttle is launched in the background. mrdenny
I hope you are trying to get a photo of your REV today, if the Space Shuttle is launched in the background. It went off and it would have been a great pic... but. I was at work(at the space center). I didn't think they would like it if I left the control room and went outside and flew my kite . I will have to catch one that launches on a shift other than mine. I was sure thinking about it.
Fraserx
I was at work(at the space center).....the control room.... You work in the Control Romm at the Space Centre???? Whaddaya do, Denny?

Fraserx
computer ops. They need old men to work with the old computers. I see! Do you ever get to say, "Computer Ops are 'Go' for launch" to a guy in a special waistcoat during the countdown?? Do you? DO you??

Fraserx
ROFL! OK OK you can start the initial lift off hows that lol, we'll have to find a caller for the rest. Ah! You see - this is where my 'How Many Revs in the Whole World' topic comes in! We establish the total number of Revs in existance, then, with every one that takes off, Denny counts back one from that number!! When no more are lifting off, we subtract the number that Denny has got down to, from the total-in-existance number, et voila! Simple. God, can't believe you lot still need a Brit to sort everything out. Sheesh. TAXI!
Baloo
Hav'nt you got that Taxi yet Fraser. I sent one out to you some time ago.

mrdenny
This happen quite by accident today. I stopped off on the way to work for a quick fly at Jetty Park. As I was packing up I notice a bunch of coast guard boats running back and forth, lights going, moving fishermen out of the area. I then realized that a Trident submarine was getting ready to leave port. So I tied my Rev to a post and snapped some pictures. I thought one might go here. I assume it's a Trident sub as it's comming out of the Trident basin.
