:lol::lol: You must have been on STEROIDS,the size of the Cameras in those days John :lol:Probably wearing platform soles and Flared trousers, with a big hat ,ruffled shirt, and a SHEEPSKIN JACKET :ani_punk:

Now that would have been a fair picture

Young at heart and as young as you feel is good.

All the best

I really don't want to be controversial here but I have to ask.

I thought you guys over that side of the water were a bit more overtly patriotic than us Brits. Am I missing something here?

The Rising Sun over the Statue of Liberty?

Actually, New York City is considered the melting pot of America and ALL nationalities are welcome here. But hey, if you want to build me an American flag Rev kite, or just buy me one for $1000, then I would be more than happy to take a trip back to the Statue of Libery and fly it for ya. And yes, we ARE patriotic and we do love our country, but we also value the fact that our ancestors busted their butts in other countries and found the freedom land here in America. Most of those ancestories actually landed right at the Statue of Liberty.

I'm Italian, Sweedish, Irish, and Native American and darn proud of it! Oh, and did I mention American?

Yes I’m well aware of the principles the Lady represents, to the rest of the world she is as strong a symbol of the United States as the Stars & Stripes. But perhaps you are not aware that there I also a lot of symbolism and meaning in the way flags are flown.

To fly one country’s flag directly above another, is a declaration that one country has conquered and is occupying the other. Now I appreciate that the Lady is not a flag and the apparent positions of kite and the statue are only a trick of perspective, but if you can’t see the insult, perhaps someone of your father’s or grandfather’s generation might.

But hay, why should I worry, not my flag not my country.

BRAVO! BRAVO!

I was born and raised in the Midwest, I know that I am descended at least from England, Wales, Sweden, France and American Indian.

Attached is a photo of an American Flag Revolution that I made and gave away in 1994. It is a scaled down REV I which is slightly larger then a REV 1.5.

We're all Rev fliers here right? Isn't that all that matters? Can't we all just get along? Obviously I wasn't trying to offend anybody by flying my kite over Miss Liberty. That kite has the Japanease Sun on it and it has some writing on it and a dragon too. In my opinion, it's just a nice looking kite and that's it. Nothing to offend anybody and I don't think that anybody would think it is offensive. Especially if you realize that the writing says "Happy Birthday" on it because that's the kite I MADE for my boyfriend. So let's continue posting cool Rev pictures over differet monumental land marks and just have fun with it. Isn't that what we're all here to do?

Hello Gary, cant wait to meet ya,herd alot about ya from my partner, anyways,,,,THANKS FOR THE TIPS AND STUFF.

The Pier,i will post the picture of the thing you can walk on.Will hopefully do later today.Dont want to give to much away as i bet our Hosts havent ever seen such a fine example  .

Ther was a fire down ther many moons ago,but cash flooded into that area in the 80s and its part of a, ,The Way we Where visitors center,,,trip back in time thing they do.

Before you say it,thers no Tardis or Star Treck gizmos :) ,Just a look back in time with period costume and stuff.

I bounced at the pier Night Club for near Ten years.Which is situated at the side of the WIGAN PIER and The George Orwell Pub.Great dance club and a real crowd puller in the late 80s and 90s.Still is.

I think its WIGAN CASINO you may be refareing to.It burnt down early eighties,or even 1979/80.I went to school with the clown they got for burning it down. The Hart Of Northern Sole was the CASINO.Its still a big deal around here and allnighters and stuff still are regular, but at diffrent venues now,

Remember the theme to, HAWAI FIVE O,,its called

THE WIGAN JOKER.

PICTURES TO FOLLOW SOON.

TTFN GARY,,da,da,dada,daaa,da,,,da,da,da,da,daaaa,hows it go :lol::lol::lol:

Well Ang - I think the Lady Liberty/Rev pics are FAR AND AWAY the best so far (no offence to any of the others, by the way!). As I mentioned before - I have never seen Liberty from this angle and can't believe how impressive it looks. It's so BIG! LOL

I SO need to get to the US sometime - the list of things I NEED to see first hand just grew. You better be there with yer Rev, Ang so you can recreate the image for my and MY camera! :)

Thanks for the comments. Just let me know when you're coming over and we'll get some major flyin' time in and recreate some of those shots.

But, I must say that those twin tower pictures are pretty spectacular and I think most Americans will agree that seeing Revs over those buildings is very surreal. Nice pics, and thanks for posting them on THIS forum.
