kitecowboy
I've heard several times of people having problems posting pics. Just trying to find out if this is a wide spread problem? even pics i already have on here wont repost, I checked that to see if it was a file size problem. Also I've heard people say they make pics smaller, any hints on how this is done would be appreciated. Thanks Cowboy.

KiteLife
As for resizing pics, it's a matter of opening up the image in an editor (Photoshop, Fireworks, etc), and using a "resize" tool in one of those programs to make the image about 800-1000px wide or tall. KiteLife
Ya, resizing really big pics also saves us TONS of web space and bandwidth... It's a considerate thing to do, when posting pictures in either the forum or the gallery. No sense in pics being bigger than is required for the task. RAWVEEDA
Another thing I had noticed was that the system did not like my pics if the extension was missing. I kept getting a file type error. I added the .jpg to my file name and all was good. (yes it was a jpeg pic)
makatakam
How small does a pic file have to be to post it in the gallery? I've resized mine so they're all less than 2MB each and I still get the message "file size too big".
jasonrharmer
Try making the width of the open file 1000 pixels or less. A 2mb jpeg is potentially HUGE if the jpeg compression is set to medium or less quality. You really only need a 1 megapixel or less for screen viewing, any more is wasted. WayneReed
Here are some free photo editing software suggestions. Not listed in the article linked here but highly recommended by me for simple tasks is Irfanview. This freeware program at http://www.irfanview.com/ has an easy to use "Save for Web" plugin that makes resizing and compression options convenient to use.
